My Bio

After a short career (12 years) as a sculptor/painter of gallery art in SanFrancisco I moved my family to Oregon where I worked and studied to become a landscape designer and builder. Now that our children are grown, I have returned to practicing and re-learning art, mostly in the form of painting and drawing. I paint what I see, whatever catches my eye, or my mind's eye, inspired by the beauty of the natural world, and other artists' work, both contemporary and past masters. Currently studying the work of realist painters of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

I retired from practicing landscape architecture at the end of 2020, and now have more time to devote to other creative endeavors, especially drawing and painting.

Current Residence: Willamette Valley, OR

Other Interests
fly fishing, fly tying, making gardens, art history, science as it relates to art
My friend and fishing companion, Arlen Thomason has a book of his photographs and writing on the subject of aquatic insects and fly fishing titled, "BugWater".  (I know, sounds a bit boring, but his photos are so beautiful it's worth checking out).  I was priviledged to contribute illustrations of fly patterns, and technical diagrams, and really enjoyed working with Arlen and seeing the finished product.

Forgive my gushing, but your gallery is absolutely stunning! Your detail and dedication to your craft and to the brief little snaps Nature provides is exemplary!

I like what you have done so far in your gallery, it seems that you have put a lot of work on it, I like it so much! Good job!
I love the little details from life you depict in your artwork.
Thank you so much for fave.
