Wet Specimen: Two Faced Kitten by CabinetCuriosities Wet Specimen: Two Faced Kitten by CabinetCuriosities
Species: Felis catus

Proper photos of the little kitten I got yesterday. It is a rare deformity which is occured on this poor thing: it got two faces but one head.
This kitten was removed from the mother by a vet. Two faced animals are usually not able to live.

This kitten had what is known as diprosopus. The cause is not known but is believed to be due to too much sonic hedgehog protein during development.

Poor thing. Do you know if the mum had any kittens that lived??
As fascinating as it is sad.

It was spayed directly after that, so no.
There was no litter after this.
