Misc - Where Stuff Happens by caat Misc - Where Stuff Happens by caat
UPDATE [Sept 2011] - Tried to make the wall in front of my computer as inspirational as possible. So there's some of my favourite photos from my travels around Britland, a couple of nice thank you notes, some scriptural passages...and a pony which returned with me from Cornwall and is now camping out on top of the studio comp. Along with Russ the turtle, who came from Weymouth Sealife Centre, the Pikachu :iconroketto-neko: mailed me and a Mewtwo keyring my niece was sweet enough to give.

Awesome Meowth would join them, but he refuses to stand without tipping over because of his massive head. So he's just boogie-ing on down between the machines. XD

Gasp! Project spoilers!

---

So yeah, this is my workspace - where all the animatey drawy writey goodness goes on. Why do I have two computers running? Not having the computer that does project work attached to the internet keeps it relatively bug free. |-D

This looks relatively like a work place I'd like to have. XD
But I am not an animator or artist, but I'd probably use it for more voice acting stuff.
^-^

I'd love to build a sound booth in here, maybe then I wouldn't be so conscious about doing screaming...it would at least cut down the reverb. =I

What I use is actually a gaming headset with a small adapter that makes it compatible in a USB Port. Though it picks up sound pretty easily, it is very clear and very easy to use. I just remove the extra sound through Audacity and I get no problems ^-^

As for screaming, I've never done that yet XD But if I was going to, I'd let my mom know just so she or my younger siblings don't freak out XDDDD

The quality of your recordings was good from what I remember. My microphone is a touch sensitive, while I get no background hiss, it does pick up slight echo from the surrounding walls during louder takes.

I have to record in the hallway because otherwise it records the fan of my studio computer as well. XD;

Well, my quality got a lot better than what you know now. I had my first head set and now I got a much nicer one ^-^

And that is really weird. I've never had a problem with an echo, and sometimes I'm in my basement which is pretty big and open.
And you can easily remove the sound of the fan ^-^ I can teach you how to if you use the program Audacity.

I'm in awe of your workspace's neatness and organizationalness. I start out that way and then pattern pieces are everywhere, fabric scraps spread all over a whole room radius, dress form gone missing, and storage bin looks like a disaster zone. :XD:

Pretty cool setup! :) What's the disk space on your desktop? All I can say is it looks more organized than mine. I use a laptop (Dell)

500GB internal, 500GB external.

I used to use a laptop but when it came to getting a replacement I opted for a desktop because I could get the same spec for less money.

Dang! That's not bad at all. My lappy only has 320 and the external is the same as yours. Sorry, I geek out when it comes to computers.

Hehe that's not a problem...so do I XD

It took a lot of trial and error to learn what I need in my computers. For instance its apparently better to have a faster processor than a better graphics card when it comes to video rendering. Graphics cards are more influencial in the case of game-playing.
