Love these designs (and your website!). Now, have you gone through college or is this a culmination of skills learned on your own? Obviously there's probably a little of both, but which had the best influence on you? Where would you recommend I start as far as tutorials and such for website creation?

Glad you like them. I am completely self-taught in everything web-related to be honest. I am currently undergoing college on a somewhat similar degree ( Computer Media Technologies ) and I regret my decission because anyone who has love and passion for web design can learn it on their own. Right now college feels the exact same way when I started dealing with web design a few years ago, they're teaching the basics and that's it. I would've benefited far more if I'd signed up for a different degree, perhaps marketing or advertising. And employers in this industry aren't looking for a piece of paper, they're looking for skills and experience ( that doesn't concern me because I don't like having a boss, so to say ).
As far as tutorials, I'm not quite sure, there are plenty of quality places but you can try the [link] network for starters and just look around. Smashingmagazine.com has some interesting articles from time to time too.

Cheers!

Very true. It's somewhat the same for me as far as Graphic Design. I've culminated a lot of my skills from a ton of tutorials. It was nice to have a few courses to get me started on basics, but then go off on my own from there. I view new classes (dealing with a program I don't know) much more effective as far as forcing me to sit and learn a new program. You're totally right, though, as far as classes feeling very redundant (and boring). It usually just translates into an easy A. :D Thanks for the site, though! I will be looking through a lot of the tuts and hopefully, I'll get a better grasp on what I need to do for my own website. :3
