Description
I've always wanted to make a neat lil' species. I have my
lavacornes, but I wanted to make something fresh ;u;
THESE ARE AN OPEN SPECIES. PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO MAKE ONE, AND SHOW ME IF YOU DO! 8D
+ Pronounced AIR-EE-JOWS, these goat-esque beasties are native to the Amazon rainforest,
where their generally naturally colored coats help disguise them from predators, and their
bright alluring flowers and nodes help attract prey and mates to themselves!
+ Baby Ari's are made in the animal way OR in the plant way; female Arijous can be pollinated
by non-arijou plant and flower pollen, which is what is believed to be the reason for the endless
diversity of headbuds and flowers that these little guys can grow!
+ The spherical orbs growing from their heads and along their backs are referred to as
nodes. They store electrical charge and can zap a predator well enough to deter them
long enough for the Arijou to flee, usually. It is also believed the Arijous can use them
as sharks use electrical impulses- as a kind of sensory field that helps them know when
others of their kind, prey, or predators are in the area!
+ They live in tribe herds, generally of over ten or so strong. The largest herd had over
a hundred individuals stretched out over a nice chunk of the Amazon river basin. Males
and females have no noticeable physical differences, although females more often are
the ones with less fur when such occurrences happen.
+ Their headbuds (when closed) and flowers (when open) can be practically any species
of flower in any shape or size. While they are usually very bright and alluring, sometimes
Arijous are born with dull colors. Usually these individuals end up mateless and tend to
have a harder time obtaining food.
+ They are omnivorous, and eat all manner of plants, as well as insects. Occasionally
they scavenge meat, but their teeth are fairly flat, so it's not as easy to eat.
+ The nodes are generally all one color, but multi-colored and patterned nodes have been
observed in the wild very sparsely. Generally the node color and eye colors match!
If you want any more info, I guarantee I can spew it out at you. xD

I wonder how exactly those nodes work? with creatures like the electric eel, they are powerful because water is a good conductor while the air isn’t.
