The paint's peeling and the molding cracks
The house we built falls faster
With every harsh word and stab
If you have ears, listen
Before the evening fades evermore
I can't see a way to take you back

The paint's peeling and the molding cracks
The house we built falls faster
With every harsh word and stab
If you have ears, listen
Before the evening fades evermore
I can't see a way to take you back
When words have ice for plaster
So in this note do know I don't grab
for a diamond which doesn't glisten
I can see your beauty was always nevermore
