There is a chance there won't be a comic next week. I have an insanely stressful weekend coming up and may not be able to get to it. We'll see. I'll keep you guys posted.

Nice! I love the sudden twist in the dialogue -- well, monologue. I didn't expect that last line...

You'll probably really enjoy the next two strips then...

Wasn't Sarah sitting with some other kids at Lunch?

Maybe she doesn't know them that well.

She was sitting with other kids but she's still "the new girl". She doesn't really fit in anywhere yet, as evidenced by her conversation with Caitlin in the last story arc and her mentioning she just wants to fit in after leaving the other girls at the lunch table.

She's got a few friends but she's not particularly close to anyone yet.

There's such a thing as "trying too hard."  Also, patience.  Friendships develop over time, not over night.  I do hold hope for these two, though; I think Caitlin actually respects Sarah a little after the bookbag incident, and I think she might find more respect after thinking about in hindsight that Sarah was standing up for her.  I'm also guessing in that last bit when Sarah mentioned not wanting to be alone she was speaking Caitlin's language (again) without even realizing it.  Of course Caitlin is probably going to ask why a girl in a 2 parent home could ever feel alone ... and I'm sure she'll get an answer.

There are still ways those two could develop in terms of how they get along.  Mutual respect, acknowledging each other, even though irritated with each other a lot ... and somehow they don't fight but somehow they wind up helping each other ... seems to still be on the table.  I'm sure I can't be the only one thinking that I'd like to see this rocky beginning (HA!) develop into a good, solid friendship.

That aside, about your weekend, I hope it goes well for you.  Breathe deep.  Celestial Seasonings puts out a great tea, Madagascar Red (I think?) that has rooibos and vanilla, that is great for calming.  Take care and be well.

Caitlin definitely views Sarah in a different light following the backpack incident. Sarah still annoys her but the message got through and Caitlin's opinion if her has definitely changed. And you're right, change doesn't happen overnight. I'm looking forward to continuing their story. =)

Thanks for the well wishes for this weekend. I need them LOL. ;)
