I am an apps and games developer in Spokane Valley, WA. I'm an artist by trade, but as you'll see from my nutso-unfocused gallery, I do a bit of everything.

For the past several weeks, we've been hosting a show called "Game and Art" on Twitch.  Hosted by video game industry artists, each themed show centers around how video game art assets are made in various programs while one of us analyzes a video game being played in real time.  It's a lot of fun and the guests have a great sense of humor! We're finally ready to debut it to the world.  Our next showing is Wednesday, September 17th at 7:00 PM Pacific.  You can watch it live over at http://www.twitch.tv/vampirebox! If you want further updates, join the public Facebook group for scheduling, announcements, and discussion.  https://www.facebook.

From my personal blog @ 7/29/2012 https://www.bwritter.com/1/post/2012/07/better-ambient-occlusion.html Most people are content to set ambient occlusion passes to multiply and be done with it.  But did you ever notice this looks kinda.. bad?  Contact shadows aren't black, and they certainly don't interrupt light sources. It may not be your fault.  Photoshop doesn't have what you need to do this properly. You need a way to convert your grayscale AO pass into black-on-alpha.  The only program I'm aware that can do this quickly and without data loss is Adobe Fireworks.  (Trust me, I've tried everything under the sun to get this effect in Phot

Thanks for the watch!
Hey, thank you very much for that critique on my character model sheet. It made me realize that I need to focus on planning out my poses a bit more carefully and to take into account the line of gravity when making still poses. I've got a lot to improve on, and your critique certainly has opened my eyes to what I need to work on. Again, thank you!
There's a book by the venerable Preston Blair called "Animation 1." It's incredibly cheap and regarded by my animation professors (themselves from Disney) to be the best resource for character construction on the planet.

Check out the Amazon link here: [link]

The best part is you don't even have to buy it. The first and most important pages are free to preview. They cover full body construction, expression, line of action, and skeletons.

And of course, send sketches my way at any time or mark them for critique. I like the stuff you do. If there is any way I can help out, I will do so.
Welcome back man, was worried you wouldn't pop onto dA again. :)
Thanks for remembering me from all those years back. I've been doing a LOT. Training as a fine artist, translating that training into digital methods, and taking that into CG. I have contracts for various Android games and applications in circulation to several choice video game and animation studios. Just realized my abandoned deviantArt account was abysmal by today's standards. Cleaned up and added most of my current portfolio. Stay in touch - I may be calling on you one day in the future.
I can never forget ya, I've been checking on your page for the past few years to see if you've been on or not and seeing you are makes me glad you're doing really well :D Like your new stuff too. ^_^ You stay in touch to man.
