How is Mario recolors a problem if we have people like SMG4 existing?

I used to recolors on screenshots with Microsoft Paint back in 2000's before I have my DA account but now I no longer recolors. I realized now that recolors is a stupid thing to do.

I don't like it when people say "Recolors are stealing!", because even though that is a true statement, I feel it's better to explain the reasoning, "You can't get better if you don't stop using bases and recolors." Because that/other statements that encourage a change in format will help a young artist to change their view on what they're doing. People who recolor bases and other art may feel like their art isn't good enough to express their ideas and creativity. I feel this kinder approach is more effective.

I used to recolor Weegees when I was new to the Weegee community, but until now, I hate Weegee recolors in which I found it cringe, a disgrace, poor quality, unoriginal and not my thing anymore when I was reviving the Weegee Fad. Plus, I don't make Semi-Recolor Mixed Images, Non-Recolor Mixed Images and Recolor Mixed Images anymore. From this day, I make Non-Recolors without mixing it with other images from any source, plus my Non-Recolors got better eventually.

I used to recolour Sonic and EEnE images when I was ten. By the time I decided to actually draw my OCS, I just stopped recoloring. Now my opinion on recolours is that they are lazily planned out and poorly done. Also, it's against copyright rules (plagiarism to be specific). I like recolors when they're joke characters and trolls, but not when they're being serious.

i dont understand why you cant just have orginality. Not a recolor of a character. Its stealing and its breaking copyright rules.

To be honest...I'm not completely against recolors.

As long as the person moves on from that and learns from their mistakes, then it's fine. It's a part of the growing process after all. I know some fandoms make it 'easier' to make recolors, but think about it....it's just a bunch of kids who can't exactly draw anything themselves yet. Everyone goes through it at some point.

I used to do a TON of recolors, but thankfully I never posted them. They just stayed on my computer, and now I look back on my old works to remind me of how much I've changed. Sometimes I even base new characters on my old recolors, because I can actually draw them now. Plus, I know re-coloring is very childish and silly....even though I do it sometimes still, but it's just for fun to see what a character would look like with a different hair or clothes color(s). I never post them and say 'ERMAHGODITSANEWOCDONUTSTEALZ!'.

So...O hope at least ONE of you read through this!

The Sonic fanbase and Thomas fanbase are FULL of recolors nowadays, I am DONE with them, they give me cancer (Nope, they DON'T give me any capricorn at all!), a heart attack, and make me want to leave DeviantArt and reincarnate as another person!
