Well quite a journey this has been. Originally just a test to see how i could merge something with terrain created in terragen (this was my first effort having only gotten terragen 2 days ago, also this was my first piece of scenery I rendered) I then liked what i saw and developed it further, added more detail to the starfield etc. Then i added cloned a planet from a previous work and threw that in there and played with the look of the sun etc. I liked what i saw and kept going. Then relising i couldn't exactly post a piece of work where i blatantly cloned aspects of my other image (i just didn't feel it was a good thing to do.) i went back and made a new planet. I actually "finished" this project 4 times, but each and every time i would go back and go, oooo how about i change this etc etc ;)

anyway enough of my rambling. Feel free to leave comments and opinions.

oh and on a final note, this is dedicated to someone very special who knows who they are. I leave you with one word, "goodbye".

This is an "oldie but a goodie", as they say. Any chance of seeing it "re-mastered" at a high enough resolution for modern desktop usage?

Superb +fav now for my review:
GREAT:the sky; the water; and the planet
Could-Be-Better: the transition from the mountain to sky seems like 2 pictures just layered on each other if possible plz smooth that out also the only other thing i can find that is not perfect is the water has no reflection of the planet

ITS awesome

This is one of the most spectacular Terragen/planet pieces I've ever seen. The colors are incredible, the detail on the planet is exquisite.

Impressive - I have to concentrate to keep my jaw from dropping open.

Criticizm (not to be rude, just for future improvement):

The star-field looks too uniform and 'not natural'.
The angle of the light on the water looks wrong.
I think you should be able to see more stars to the upper-right of the planet, since it is darker and is not blotted-out by the main lightsource.

Good parts:

I love the planet's lights (civilization?), rock formations... actually, I love everything about the planet.
The lighting on the right cliff-face is pretty good.
The colors of the star clusters were perfect.
