Sky definitely isn't your fault and you shouldn't be ashamed of it- you are not able to control weather, are you? You probably couldn't do better in conditions you had. Maybe Photoshop could do some magic here, but would it really be worth to try? A lot better solution in my opinion is to simply plan another trip to this amazing location Just wait for right weather (forecast is one of photographers best friends imo), and make sure the light will work as you want to (if you don't know TPE yet, you shouldn't wait any longer- [link] photographers best friend without a doubt)
Very eye catching. I like a classical feeling that this photograph have- classical composition works very well with beautiful landscape. Rocks in the foreground give a nice depth to the scene, tree is placed just exactly where it should be. But the thing that makes this photo great is light- it is perfectly used. Warm, gentle light of setting sun gives this scene some kind of texture and makes it look simply beautiful. This photograph would be perfect for me if the sky was more interesting, intense in some way. I'm also not sure about sharpening, maybe I'd sharpen this photograph little more.
