Country House by BusterBrownBB Country House by BusterBrownBB
Plean Country House.
Such a lot of character in this building, even in this state.

It certianly is, can't wait till summer again - there should be some great colours in the vegetation too.

This the ruins of Plean House, Stirlingshire.
This ruin which was built around 1800 and destroyed by fire in 1972, sits within Plean Country Park which was established in the 1980's. The ruin is now unsafe but was originally built by Francis Simpson who was a Ship's Captain with The Honourable East India Company.

Amazing, lovely in it's derelict state, it will hold so much history, no doubt about that.

I just tried looking it up, as I wanted to know, as I love finding out, love history of places such as this.

My pleasure, it's a lovely shot. :-)

I love history, trying to envisage way back then and learning how things were, just really intrigues me so much, how things were done, when how etc. ;-)

There's a bunch of history for this house, It's still strangely imposing even as a ruin.

What a pit it's on ruins... it must been beautiful once, it still is in a way, a strange ghostly way.

it's strange how the flowers seem to grow, a perfect garden to the old place. Great contrast too.

I would love to have seen it, sometimes it's not really the state of the house that is spooky but the all environment.
Gardens of old or abandoned places can be quite ghostly too.
