THE SHACK MIGUEL Liquid dripped on the floor. Red. Dark. It was blood. I wiped it from the gleaming blade using a coarse white towel. Red spots blossomed along the towel's rough texture. Its slow, rhythmic dripping filled the silence, further amplified by the coarse cement walls that surrounded me. Then, the dripping stopped.
