It's been almost a year since my first design of my character Jósefíne Eyvindursdóttir who lives in an isolated sun worshipping Faroese community in 2150, 53 years after society has collapsed.
After learning loads of new things since I made her first 2 outfits... I decided to change things and did a quick paintover for ideas back in July. There I found a replacement for her backpack because I knew 6 soldiers will already have those, and like this it'll make more sense for someone who likes to collect scraps of the old world and needs her bag a lot.
I wanted to bring forward the Faroe sheep and fishing vibe, so during the paintover I tried a different coat design with a big fluffy collar and replaced the fishnet stocking with a real fishing net. However the coat didn't work out and came up with this version that is made out of two coats and pockets from other clothing. I placed the sheepskin on different places and kept the fishingnets.
Because I for some reason didn't draw her rifle in the first designs I put it in her hands during the paintover which I eventually scrapped because it'll look too confident for someone who's shy, careful, and not skilled to fire it as the rifle has been given for emergencies only. I changed the pose into this current one where she holds onto it out of precaution.
The overall denim dress and trousers change only happened last week when I did a quick paintover for that. I wasn't sure about her shorts and stockings that I still had from the first design. I might tweak it a little again one day, maybe to the things that might disappear into the things behind it or some extra shading. For now I call it a finished design and I can focus on the other characters.
