Tempted as Faylen would be to hit Isolde, she really wouldn't do it. Even if Isolde treats her like a servant.

I finally looked at some visual references for Dog and I think he looks better now.

Sometimes I think Isolde was created just so we can hate her. Everything she does, everything she says, it makes everyone want to punch her.
Seriously, when Jowan suggested sacrificing her to save Connor, I was like "Stop tempting me!!". And then when she says she'd be okay with that ... man it was hard not to kill her XD

I like how your warden talks with her mabarri, it's pretty awesome :)

I so didn't want to hate her too much! XD I think if they didn't keep hinting she's been having affairs with Teagan, I'd like her more, but sadly they seem to just pile on all the bad stuff without giving her that much good stuff to balance her out. I actually didn't mind her much, save her snide comments, and could understand where she was coming from, but unfortunately we just never saw any of her better qualities.

Dog is the awesomest! :D

Wouldn't it be cool if you could slap her

The only way you can is...

*SPOILER*

if you chose to kill Conner and she begs you not to, you can knock her out with a good backhand

I've seen that on Youtube. Haven't managed to do it yet; both my Wardens so far chose to help Connor with the Circle magic.

One of my Wardens killed her (before I realized you had a choice) and the others have gone to the Circle. My husband has killed Conner a few times because he hates doing Trapped in the Fade at the Circle.

Punching Isolde in the face feels good, I did cuz I killed Connor got my ear chewed out by Alistair after that, but it was worth it, and as I punched her these thoughts came into my head: "That's for Jowan!"
Surprisingly I didn't feel like I got her back for what Alistair went threw, but it felt like I got revenge for the torture Jowan was put threw.

Heh, I wish there was a save Connor punch Isolde option. XD Or at least slap her. She deserves a slap.

I called him out on being mad at me for it. He was really made because I killed the wife of the man that had taken him in for the first ten years of his life. I redeemed myself with his locket ;)

I always hated how she always seemed to look down/ignore the Grey Warden. As if they didn't know what to do (which, depending on how you've played, they could have kicked royal ass, saved the dalish, gone through the fade, and pretty much duct-taped the political turmoil of the dwarfs back together for a short time- which makes them generally /that/ awesome). And she never seemed to look beyond her own son (which to a point, I sorta understood I guess).

Otherwise she was a pretty cool character. It shocks me how much people really do hate her though. She's annoying, but that's about it honestly.

I love your backgrounds. They actually look nice. And straight. They aren't all lopsided so it looks like everybody should be sliding around the room. And the little details that are enough to give the armor a bit of form is also really nice.

The only critique I could give would be that dog looks a little creepy. But I'd imagine he'd be difficult to draw, since even in game he looked sorta like some sorta bear dog thing. Lovable, and amazing, and adorable, but a little awkward. And somewhat awkward proportions. Loved him though. I used him about as much as Shale.

Thanks! I work really hard on the backgrounds because I need to practice, and I'm glad they're coming out well. :w00t!: Dog is difficult to draw and animals aren't my forte, so I keep working on him. I didn't use him much since my Warden is a fighter and Alistair/Shale were my tanks, but I still adore him.

Isolde is certainly not supposed to be a sympathetic character, and I guess she really pisses a lot of people off. My guess is that she doesn't like Fereldans much and doesn't trust them. Either that, or she's acting Orlaisian, as in everyone should bow down to her because she's royalty. I wonder if she would have acted differently toward your Warden if they came from Orlais.

I use Dog when I don't feel like using Alistair for whatever reason. Like when I know I'm going to do something bad and I don't want his disapproval. Because Dog loves unconditionally!

Isolde actually might still not trust Ferldan's. I hadn't thought of that. I guess I assumed that she just accepted it all or something. Hm. I suppose everybody would still be all mean to her and stuff. People do hold grudges over wars.

I suppose my biggest thing was I was wanting her to a better ruler person for her people. Like, I didn't mind that her son came first. But I guess I just didn't like the spoiled princess act when the whole world was sorta falling apart around her. Something similar with Anora as well. Though Anora get's nicer if you play a male I've heard. I haven't gotten that far with a male character yet.

Yeah, but like someone said, Isolde is motivated by fear. She also could have been afraid that if the Fereldans around her found out she bore a mage, they'd find even more reasons to hate her. I had an idea to do that a comic about her, but it's been placed in my large Dragon age queue. lol

Really? Anora was pretty nice to my character. Of course, I did tell her what she wanted to hear, so that would have helped. :D

I get what you're saying with the fear. It was just in my first playthrough she annoyed me, and it sort of stuck. I've never hated her. And the more I play it, the less she annoys me. But that's probably more from just expecting it than anything.

I told Anora I'd support her in the Landsmeet, but I guess she wasn't overly pleased that I asked her why I should. And I was rather short with her after being sent to Fort Drakon after saving her.

She's a fun character though, because she can go so many ways. Like she was siding with Howe, and it was a trap for the Grey Warden, and when you got through she sent you to the Fort, and when you got back she was gave a hefty sigh and was like "Fine, let's try getting the thrown with you then". Or she could actually be nicer, and hiding behind her political visage because politics mess you up and she's all scared and lost-ish. Which makes her fun.

Gosh, I don't remember what I talked about with Anora now. But I wasn't short with her. Maybe that was why. She certainly is calculating, but I like her.

Yes! I Love how you captured this moment. In game, it always bugged me how you just happened to come across the Locket to give to...well, you know. And if *said* person is in your party, he doesn't even comment on it until you get back to camp or give it to him directly. Blagh. I mean, *some* kind of story driven moment would have been nice.

Ha, although given how much Gaider (lead writer) has revealed was cut from the game, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that something more was supposed to happen.

As to Isolde? You pretty much summed up the general opinion of almost half the BioWare Community. They'd love to knock her out, but it just wouldn't be(Laughs)productive.
Comic continues to be awesome.

Thanks! ^_^ That kind of bugged me too, especially since I gave it to him in the room, but I guess they either had to cut stuff, or couldn't make it work with the gameplay.

I know what you mean about the amount cut... WHY though, is what I ask... I think every fan out there WANTS more... I wouldn't care if it took me three years to finish the game. I've never played one so story orientated and in all honesty I wanted more of it afterwards!

Sadly, it comes down to resources and man-power. BioWare had been working on Dragon Age since around 2002, and it was always intended to be the follow-up to thier D&D titles, if only as a new IP. However, between the success of Mass Effect and the choice to put greater focus on that game's sequel as well as the opening of the Austin studio for the production of The Old Republic MMO, BioWare simply found themselves stretched kind of thin, so when EA pressed for Dragon Age to be released the Devs had to make some hard choices to ensure the game would be finished when it hit the stores. They didn't want to do what Obsidian did with KOTOR2 and release a Broken unfinshed game. So, stuff was cut, and other stuff was shuffled around. Hopefully, DA2 will be a more complete and flushed out tale. Dragon Age was Brilliant though, so cudos to BioWare doing what they could with the time they had left.

Totally - regardless of what they did cut, the story is so brilliant in it - that's why I wanted more. But then hubby does say that I'm greedy! ;)
