Dear Reader...
I'm gonna start uploading some stuff from this semester again. -w-
This one is the most recent actually. I started this last week lol. Our digital illustration class was supposed to get Cintiq tablets this past summer so we could be the first students at school to use them. However, multiple delays caused us to only have two weeks to use them. |D They were awesome though. OwO I told my professor I would buy one... if I had a job and money. XD
Anywho, our last project was to create a cover illustration for an existing subject, whether it was a book, a magazine, or a video game. I chose Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, my number one favorite book series as a kid. I loved all the books, but I've yet to read The End. XD; The movie was also pretty awesome, and I loved it to pieces when I saw it. X3
This particular was based on the Bad Beginning, aka Book the First. I took inspiration from both the books' illustrations and the movie, combining them in what my classmate said, a Tim Burton style. XD
I don't know, I have mixed feelings about it. I feel like it's not at a level I would called "finished", mainly because I barely had time to work on it. The original plan was to draw the entire interior of Count Olaf's manor, but I didn't even get to drawing it. So instead, I drew the Baudelaire children stepping in from the light of safety and fortune, into the darkness they have only just started to experience. (As my professor stated lol) If I had more time, I would definitely add more detail. X3
And if you haven't read the books or seen the movie, you should. Like, now. THEY'RE AWESOME

I love how tall and stylised they look! ^^
