What a beautiful house~ I love imagining my OCs living in your houses.
Built4ever's avatar
Heh that's interesting! Maybe I should create some OCs that are millionaire clients.

Looking good :)

Thanks. You do these! Do 'em for actual projects?
f700es's avatar
Yes, haven't done many in a while but yes I do. All of the black and white images in my gallery are of actual builds.

What are you working on these days?
f700es's avatar
Well my "day-time" job is the Space Manager for a small university up here. I did do a recent sketchup model of a garage for a client.

Yeah I saw that, it looks nice, but sheesh it's got a porch, a bay window. What's going on here? I wasn't sure what to make of it when I saw it. They want the garage to look like a house?

Garage/in-law suite I think ;)

AHA. Some people house their mother-in-law in the garage. She can sleep in the back seat of the Toyota.

I have to admit, I have a preference for your hand work.. Fortunately, your design creativity has not suffered from the transition to electronic media..

It's being forced. I have to generate as close to finished construction plans as possible, in house. Even if I hire help to add to, critique, modify, and otherwise take to a higher level, it's imperative that I at least generate a digital blueprint for other professionals, builders and designers alike. 3D models allow examination of complex exterior AND interior details and allow me to express to clients and other designers things I could not do with 2D sketches. I can also troubleshoot problem areas and eliminate issues. Looking at a roof on a 3d model makes it darn sure clear that the "roof works!"

But here's the good news: in the end, I will go back into reverse in the time machine and do complex perspective drawings based on the outlines of a 3D model "still shot," making the early layout of a complicated perspective drawing a breeze!

Ahh, keep your artistic talents fresh!!

And I do understand the need for electronic media in this day of electrons whizzing across miles of cable!

Most of my clients are out of state. Just getting hand-drawn plans to print out at the right scale on their end is a chore! But a quarter inch scale 24x36 PDF, no problem. All these problems are fresh and very recent.

Have to say, this is great, but i just love your sketches, the amount of detail you capture is so mind-blowing!! If only more architects used your method we would have very unique houses, rather than plain cookie cut like houses of the suburbs.

Thanks, yes, I won't abandon the pencil art...

This is so sweet. You know: I use your designs as an isnpiration to build my Minecraft towns. Thanks a lot.

OHHHH do you have links? Can I see??

I have to take pictures directly to my screen, because I don't own a video capturer to record my PS3 stuff. But I'll show you for sure :D
