This is the first complete set of sketched plans for this house design, but it was substantially re-designed and built in 2014-2015 time period in Texas. The house as built has a completely different ground plan, with the front reversed, and an angled wing off the rear left for mud rm and garage. Entire first floor is different too. See my gallery for the built version of this home. Here's some views of the construction and final home:

Lovely house with a very interesting facade.I really love your sketches, your perspectives are so real and detailed. I like the variety you give to elevations with entry porches, dining nooks, high and thick chimneys dominating the front, various gables. It just makes you dream how it would be to live in a house like that.:

No need to dream. This house is being built this year. Plans are different, but it will look very close to the portrait sketch of the front, except the gable on the side will get wider, and the master suite bedroom will go in there, with that beautiful fireplace!

I think this house is just brilliant, maybe because of the way the design looks like it could be a framed picture.
If I received this as the design specs for my home, I would definitely frame it and hang it up as a reminder.
It's just stunning and the details with all the measurements and how each room is laid out. Just lovely.

Thanks! I've had a couple requests for this as a print, actually...

Thanks! I appreciate the exposure and thoughts. I agree about the inconsistent colors of the scans. I cobbled it together one day and let it fly. I had NO IDEA it would become my most viewed piece of all time. I really should clean it up and improve it. I was really wanting to fix up a few things in the plan too, not satisfied with the open vaulted ceiling design. Speaking of game designs and virtual architecture, I just posted the entire town center for a virtual town design. (See The Clove Town Center.) The idea for virtual architecture DOES work!

I'm glad what I do is helping; feel free to share that site with anyone interested, the more exposure for everyone the better. I'd love to see it cleaned up, as I'm sure tons of people would based on its popularity. I just looked over you Town Center design, it's gorgeous! I love the changes in elevation; it's a tricky thing to manage and really shows your skill. I can't wait for the day your designs make it into games. It will really elevate their quality :D

I'm very busy beginning this year, possible large projects, so I have to find some time to fix that one up. The front of that house is one of my best ever. I drew it 5 yrs ago I believe. I would like to build this some day.

Wow, 5 years ago? You must be designing some crazy good stuff now. Well of course you are; that Clove design was great. That would be a really great picture, to see the original design between the finished house!

I want to build this :) I am a 4th generation master carpenter and I would love to build this from the ground up. Have any victorian style plans?
Built4ever's avatar
Not much. They are maintenance nightmares of course. I still love 'em. Too much gingerbread. It would have to be brick victorian maybe with minimal crazy woodwork, and minimal carved stone, which is too expensive these days. I'm still toying with the interior of this house. I'm not satisfied with the timber frame arrangement. I'm picky! Not aesthetic from inside. Exterior I'll never change. One of my favorites fer sure. Have you done timber framing? Where are you at?

I am in California. I have done very little timber framing but would love to do more. Not much opportunity here in CA given our codes. Everything is reenforced with steel here :)
