Aussieblock Reconstituted Limestone Block Home

Montage of construction photos for mid-size custom home in the hill country of central Texas, west of Austin. Original product was developed in Australia as a landscape block for retaining walls. Called a "meter block," it's one meter, or 40" long, and weighs about 600 pounds. Product is now being produced here in Texas. Increasingly, within the last 2 years, the blocks are being used for the first floor exterior (and some interior) walls for custom homes in the area. Popularity is exploding as people discover the obvious advantage of a solid masonry wall system with good energy performance. These blocks look great unfinished, so there is no need for additional finishes inside or out! Cost is very reasonable. Three-man crew as pictured can lay 70-90 blocks per day. Small to medium house can have 1200-2000 blocks total. Builds an incredibly strong, beautiful home, no worries about fire, termites, moisture/water damage, or storms. (No earthquakes in central Texas.)
