My first journal and I have no idea what to write. Currently just writing so that my dA page does not look so sad and empty.
Well...SMASH...what can I say? I loved the new location and of course the many many amazing cosplays/cosplayers there! Was surprised by how many interstate people came.
Met many more new people and for once sat down at listened to the panels.
Attended Tsubaki-chan's panel on basic armour/props (got some helpful hints) and because I missed and 's photography panel (SO SORRY!!), I sat in Clare's advanced sewing techniques panel...and well what I can say...uh...there were lots of pretty pictures?! (Too advanced -_-)
So on Saturday, I went solo and cosplayed as Souda Emonzaemon or 左右田 右衛門左衛門 (Really really really ridiculously long name) from the series Katanagatari (刀語).
Second time cosplaying, Gauche from Tegami Bachi was a disaster. Also, my first time making/altering a costume; mostly hand sewn because I don't have/know how to use a sewing machine. So signs of a disaster were expected.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw other Katanagatari cosplayers.
Thank you to for the photo. L-R: Me, Maniwa Kyouken, Maniwa Penguin, Togame and Shicika.
as Hitei Hime and as Emonzaemon.
I was sad more people asked if I was Abarai Renji from Bleach despite having a giant mask instead of knowing my character or series. (woot for more obscure cosplays!)
So...uh...does that mean Renji turns into a hollow or something in Bleach???? Havn't read the manga in so long.
People have said I am giving up the 'way of the camera' and picking up the 'way of the costume', but thats not true at all!
I still enjoy photography...except I just found a new part-time hobby. Its just that it's quite difficult doing both on the same day D:
Would also like to thank : and for inviting me to the awesome shoots over the week.
Just need to find some time to finish them off.
Well I guess that's all for now, will see most of you at Animania, unless you are going to Manifest or EB Expo.
