Bob's ashes had to sit on our kitchen windowsill for a little while before we were both free to bury him. The vets sent a package with a nice poem and a card of condolence. We opted to bury him under the spot in the garden where he and the girls would lie together, so when they're lying there, it's like he's still lying with them. We had to wait since I can only be over my Dad's place at the weekend, and we needed to get a hold of a shovel, and wait on the weather to not be total garbage (August is very rainy in England). I'm still a bit raw over it, obviously, but handling the receptacle helped me move more into the acceptance phase, y'know? He's buried at the base of the dead tree in the "sun-spot" all the animals rest in. I told him we loved him, kissed him goodbye, and set him in. The pot is biodegradable, so in time it'll break down and he'll mix with the soil. I placed the beds back on either side of the stump, but spread them further apart so the sun can come through and

Hello everyone. Last night, I learned that our sweet little man, Bobobob, had been hit by a car on Saturday night. He was rushed to the vets after being struck (not by the people who hit him), but was unconscious and unresponsive. He died shortly after, and his chips (he was given two by mistake) were how the vets identified him and called my father. My father waited to get home to tell me, and I spent a little time shell-shocked, but then broke down, mostly weeping and saying please no over and over. I got mad. I screamed. I held his cushion. I packed away all his food and things, because I couldn't bare to leave them out (they're all going to a shelter). Dad's picking up the cremated remains later, and we're going to give his things to a cat shelter. We won't be getting another cat. Dad's house is small and he and I are out most of the week, so he was an outdoor cat. We can't have an indoor cat, and I couldn't take losing another one. The dogs have been great, following me around
