The texture on this really turned out well! I noticed the room number is 1918... for a minute it looked like 1618 (1.618). Interesting.

By the way, I love your music. Just bought This Binary Universe and Movement in Still Life a few weeks ago. Great work!

I'd love to see more! Other-wordly. Reminds me of some of the masks I have from Ghana.

this kinda reminds me of a Stephen Gammell ("scary stories to tell in the dark" and other kid's books) illustration...simple and distorted! =)
mollygrue Featured By Owner Oct 4, 2006
I'm going to agree with a previous comment in saying that, while I normally wouldn't advise allowing the flash to distort the image, it does work here, seems purposeful and helps to focus the composition.

I like doodles that are on random bits of paper. I sometimes draw on receipts when they're all that I can find. Or my history notes. Or napkins. I'd like to see other examples of these. Are they always faces? Do they get more or less expressive? Are they a type of self-portraiture?

I'm also digging that there's just the barest hint of a previous doodle up in the top right corner.

Oh! And welcome to the community. I hope the last two weeks haven't been too much of a trial.

Nice, everytime I try to doodle things to get my mind straight they turn into large scale scribbles.

Pretty cool.. is it really shaded that way or was it the flash form the camera.. whatever it was, i like the way the lighting pullsy ou into the figure.. probably the best work in your gallery so far.. I would say post them all.. what would it hurt? :)
Shinsha Featured By Owner Sep 26, 2006   Traditional Artist
Post them all ... then matt and frame them because I could easily see them in a gallery collection.

Great sketch, love it. I've got a whole book of sketches that I drew while I was in hospital for 3 months, they really helped me deal with the whole experience.

I know what you mean about "inviting people to go through your underwear drawer" I feel like that about my photography too. I've always had a hard time explaining that to anyone though, you've worded it perfect.

kick ass thanks you guys....points noted :) glad you dig it!!! little paranoid about sharing my art, I feel like I just invited people over to go through my underwear drawer!!! LOL!!!

respect >

phraseology Featured By Owner Sep 26, 2006
hahaha, I feel that way still. Ah well, at least the underwear is attractive.
mssv Featured By Owner Sep 25, 2006
i like the style you've got here, its quite interesting. Is this a portrait of someone you know? :giggle:

LadyTieryn is probably right, a 1.3mb image is quite large for some people on slower internet connections to view. You'd probably want to keep the file size around 300-500kb, it makes it alot easier for others to look at your artwork and also stop people from stealing it.

P.s. love your music :)!

Nice sketch. :) You might want to resize them to post on DA. It would make full view a lot easier for some of us if they were smaller. Just my opinion though.

very interesting expression. I think its a nice piece and would like to see more of this stuff.
