The past few weeks have been very busy and in spite of the long work hours I can't help but be thankful to God for allowing us to work freelance. This year has been great and it feels like God is putting in some more extra blessings as the year comes to a close.

Thank you God for the projects and the learnings of this year. We've still got almost 3 weeks to go and I can't help but get excited over what 2013 will hold for me.

I declare that before this week closes, I'll be able to fix my schedule to allow me to work on some personal art :)

Ei guys... sorry for the lack of updates. Kris and I have been very busy these past few weeks working together on some card illustrations for a CCG on top of our work for our own separate clients.

Down the line I expect to be working again on an indie comics, and hopefully get to illustrate more cards and maybe some book covers as well as board games :)

I'm still alive though and when I get some time off I'll go and draw some more fan art to chill hehe!

God bless!

Yup... and once again God has reaffirmed that his plans are always better than mine... ok Jesus, once again I'm wrong :) Thanks a lot for today's and yesterday's blessings.

Hi guys! I haven't been able to post much here because I most of the stuff that I've finished these past few months have Non Disclosure Agreements on them but I do am working on my personal art and am about to finish the 2nd batch of Marvel Samples that I should have finished last week if it weren't for the flood that hit our place and displaced me and my studio.

But God is great and none of my essential drawing stuff got wet so I'm back at full swing and hopefully able to catch up with the remaining work load for August, both for my clients and for my personal art :)

Stay safe and God bless,

Bryan

Reposting this from my blog :)

Whoa... things have been pretty hectic recently and I haven't had the time to update my blog. Actually, I should be working right now so here's a quick round-up of what's been happening:

1. A lot of the stuff that I've worked on last week cannot be posted yet hehe... Hence the lack of updates to my portfolio. I try to find as much long term freelance projects to finance this journey to Marveldom. Let's cross our fingers and hope that what I'm working on right now will turn-out fruitful.

2. Wrapped up some short projects, the Harley Quinn fan art here being one of them. I've been thinking too... it seems like I've been getting more projects doing digital paintings instead of comic book art and I guess that's due to the utter lack of sequentials on my folio. That needs to get fixed.

3. Late nights galore! I'm up till 3:30 AM almost everyday drawing and exchanging emails with clients. It's not that bad... in fact its better than when I was working. I stay up late and wake-up late so I still get 8 hours of sleep.

4. I was burned out last weekend and I just couldn't work so inspite of being wasted I decided to head on to Divisoria and scourge the old places that I used to go to when I was in college and search for KO Beast Wars toys. Unfortunately I couldn't find any and what I got instead was 2 crappy TF's that I plan to use on a kitbash project and 2 building bricks that I mess around in my work space.

I don't know why but the toys area of Divi has a way of relaxing me and making my mind work again... nevermind the snatchers, I've been going there long enough to know how to take care of myself.

5. And it's back to samples again. I've been messing around with my papers and pencils and hopefully wrap up another batch of samples for Marvel before this month ends. Hopefully I don't get that busy.

That's it... so not much update from me. Am still working out a system that would make me a more efficient sequential artist and I'm hoping this method works.

Cheers!

Well, for starters... I've updated my user name hehe! That's something I've been meaning to do for a long time :)

Anyway, I haven't been really active these past few days, and that's because I've been creating sample pages and working on some projects for clients.

I've just started working freelance again after taking a break for almost 2 months after I left Anino Games. I miss working there, they've given me so much and management has helped me grow a lot not only as an artist but also as a leader in the teams that I was a part of. Working freelance however, has been part of my "Stuff-To-Do-Before-Turning-30" hence the need to make a decision to leave my career for now and try this for the time being.

Great stuff's been happening recently though, and I thank God for all the breakthroughs. Two things that are worth sharing are the following:

a. Being part of a group of artists who are now training with Marvel: Mr. CB Cebulski went to the Philippines last March to do a talent search and thank God I was among the 34 artists who were included. It was nice to meet some of my old friends from my animation days, who were also blessed to have passed the initial screening. Passing this round also helped us get featured on ImagineFX hehe... two goals with one submission :)

b. I'll have some of my work featured in a digital painting magazine around July. I'm still waiting feedback as to the final schedule and I'm praying that this goes well for my career.

I'm still adjusting to my schedule right now. Me and my fiancee, since we started working freelance, has been pulling around 12 hours+ work hours because we just couldn't stop working hehe... It's just so much fun and the hours fly and most of the time that we don't realize that we haven't been going out a lot. We're both in our separate studios in our own respective homes and we just  talk on the speaker phone while working. I think we need to fix that haha:)

Thank God for everything and a blessed 2nd half of 2012 to everyone!
Hi guys! Long time no DA journal post... been busy brushing up my digital painting skills, which to my surprise, I'm really enjoying very much.

Anyway, I got featured on an art site, please click on the link below:

whatanart.com/2011/10/13/imagi…

It's a relatively new site yet it's ripe with inspiration and eye-candy for us digital artists :) Please do check the site out and God bless!

I've been meaning to create a sketch blog for the longest time but I've figured that it'd be best to use my DA as such. This way I only need to update my FB and DA accounts hehe!

I hope you guys forgive the seeming redundancy of my posts here as I'll be trying to post my WIPs on a regular basis. Please do feel free to share your insights regarding the stuff that I'm working on.

Cheers and God bless peeps!

Hi! No, I'm not new at DA, this is actually my second account and I'm planning on using this starting today. So if you're familiar with my old account, I won't be using that anymore due to personal reasons. This is where my art will go from this day forward.

It's been a while since I last updated my old DA, the reason was me being busy. I've been working on a lot of stuff and since my last entry a lot has happened to me career wise.

For starters, since last year I've been working as a concept artist for a gaming company here in the Philippines. It's something that I've always wanted to do but it's quite a distance away from home so I'm spending at least 3 1/2 hours travelling daily as compared to my 1 hour daily commute from my previous employer. That's less time for personal art hehe... add the fact that I'm teaching part-time on weekends than that's even less time I get to spend with my Wacom. But all is great and I'm not complaining... just learning how to work with whatever time that I have in my hands.

I didn't stop drawing for myself though, that's not something I would do. I think I've never drawn as much in any other phase of my life than where I am today, although I really wish I could draw more hehe...

I think I've come to a point in my life where I'm a tad bit more focused and determined. Having weathered quite a few storms last year has made me realize what I want and what I'm willing to give for those things. One of the things that I've realized is that I want to work at my own studio as a comic book artist... that's the ultimate childhood dream for me and I'm praying that God will lead me towards that goal :)

So that being said, my new DA will somewhat be my journal of that journey. I may not be able to update this one as often as I like but I'll do my best. I'm not sure if I'll get there but I'm sure I'm going to enjoy every stroke that I give.

Thanks and God bless guys, cheers!
