Writing stuff here because this dA account is like the only personal space I own, and it's pretty dear to me.

Anyway, if you still remember, my cat got pretty bad seizures a couple of months ago and was rushed to the ER. So after spending 3 nights in the ER, we got him home and managed to book an appointment with a specialist in the next couple of weeks. We spent about $3k more to do all kind of tests (including examining his spinal fluid) to determine what happened to him, because we wanted to get to the root cause and treat him permanently.

After the wait, the result came back with "we don't know what happened". Yep. $5k in total including ER fee and almost a month of waiting, we got "he's now a special need kitty and will have to take medicines for the rest of his life, because we can't determine what the problem is so there is no cure, surgery or whatever else we can do".

So yeah, he's been on his medicines since. He's mostly recover(?), eating, playing, meowing and all. His head is permanently tilted to a side though. He can track and hunt stuff if it's lower than his head. If you place something above his head or throw something over him, he gets kind of dizzy and will spin in circle or fell down on his back.

That's all for me I guess. Here is the cat tax. Tbf he looks really cute with the head tilt, if only it doesn't come from whatever brain problem he's having /sigh

He's 4 years old healthy boy. There wasn't any sign. He was as active and affectionate as usual all day. Then he had dinner and went to his favourite hanging bed by the window to sleep. We were all been chilling for the night and BAM he fall off the bed on to the ground. His head tilted to a side and he was twitching and howling. We rushed him to the closest emergency vet which was 15 minutes away. They gave him medicine and his seizure reduced but it didn't crease. Then they did blood test and everything came out clean. I had to leave him there for the night so they can continue to monitoring him. This morning the vet called and said he was fine. And then at noon the vet called again and said it's not looking good, he still having more seizures and that he might be having some kind of viruses, so we need to take him to a specialist.

Anyway.. I'm still waiting on update from the doctor for the arrangement.

The initial cost for all the tests, boarding and medicine was $2200 which we lucky enough to have an emergency fund set aside. But if he needs surgery or anything else, I don't know how we will be able to afford it.

I'm sorry for the ramble. He's an indoor cat and never had any health problem since we got him, so this is just all so distraught and confusing for me.
