I have always been a big fan of the last vestiges of the old days of New York..and what I can remember from my childhood as I grew up here. As time went on..a lot of these places were torn down to make way more these modern eyesores...that way the city can let more people move in, increase rents..and ruin the old fashioned charm that many neighborhoods once had. I just found out that the city approved another development plan in Long Island City, Queens to happen. Because of this, the iconic 5 Pointz building is going to be torn down to allow for 2 huge residential buildings to be built. Long Island City was once a nice, quiet neighborhood...

Today marks 12 years since the attacks of September 11th occurred. Today is a very somber day for me..and I will share my story of what happened on that tragic day... When I was growing up..I always admired the Twin Towers. I was able to see them from where I live..and many streets in my neighborhood and the surrounding areas provided great views of the Twin Towers. I also remember how the Twin Towers looked from when you go over the Williamsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges..when you drove through Lower Manhattan..and the way they looked from New Jersey. As I was getting older..I told myself that I must visit the Twin Towers when I can...
