Okay, so this one was a lot of fun to do. I love it when I can really sit down and focus on the characters. Their poses, expressions, details and all the little things that stand out to set them apart. This picture was the perfect opportunity for me to do it. Four characters, four poses and four expressions all combining to make a moment in time. Sweet.

First and foremost, you gotta love the Aviators on Spirtfire. She rocks those shades. Nuff said.

As for the expressions, I think I made the grade on that front. Rainbow Dash is puffing out her chest and stroking her ego a bit, while Spitfire is rolling her eyes and returning fire with a little insult of her own. Derpy seems to be enjoying the back and forth in front of her, and Soarin is a touch late to the party curious to the source of all the commotion.

Don’t see too much official art of Soarin without the goggles. I was winging it for most of my work with that dude.

Between adding a little bit of volume to everybody’s hair, and sneaking in some extra detail with my patented woodwork this one did all come together in the coloring phase. I’m pretty happy with it.

A big shout out to for his attempt to bury me under commissioned work yet again. I’ve finally dug my way out and I’m a better artist for it.
