Lava Rock Cthulhu

And now here's the reason for the Cthulhu covered in salt I posted earlier [link]. I came across this tutorial some time ago [link] and thought it would work well for a Cthulhu idol. I did mine with my standard grey clay and painted it, rather than using black. I had planned on casting this guy but there are some things yet I want to iron out with the technique. The lava effect turned out decently but there were enough issues I wasn't totally pleased with. I'll be doing another and tweaking it a bit for casting.
He's a little guy, about 2 inches tall.
