South Western Tankie

Description

The original slide, taken at the 'Woking 150' celebrations in 1988, was rather contrasty and I haven't been able to improve it much. However, I don't think I photographed any other locomotive in London & South Western (LSWR) livery so this will have to do. M7 0-4-4T No. 245, part of the National Collection, was British Railways 30245 and was withdrawn from Nine Elms shed in November 1962 after a spell as one of the London Waterloo empty coaching stock pilots.

In the background, visitors scramble into a 'Deltic' which I think was D9000 'Royal Scots Grey'.
