I am an illustrator, art teacher, horse maniac, and total nerd.
I was fortunate enough to spend many childhood hours in libraries and forests—two settings I highly recommend if you want to grow up drawing talking animals, myth and magic, and mysterious creatures.
The most important tool in my arsenal is a .5 mechanical pencil (2B if I’m feeling frisky). My eyeglass prescription and my affinity for texture and detail are hilariously mismatched.
I balance the hours spent leaning over my desk with time in the saddle. The rest of my free time is spent “exploring” (read, getting lost in) the woods, reading comic books, and writing short stories.
I studied Illustration at both the Delaware College of Art and Design and the Maryland Institute College of Art. Since I can’t shut up about drawing, I teach drawing workshops and middle school art.
