In this case we decided to have this Troll represent the fear the Inuit have of starvation since it is so much a part of their history. It needs to be said that not all of the Inuit mythology is so dark and nasty.

I know this old and all, but I think you may be confusing the Wendigo for the Scandinavian Troll.
