Toys in the attic

This is a submission for the contest (and on the theme) "Abandoned places": [link]

One thing that immediately struck me, as I was thinking about what to propose, is that abandoned places are no longer abandoned when we take photographs or explore, play, hide and wander in any of them. And we just all love to do that, otherwise this contest wouldn't trigger our imagination so much and inspire us the way it does...

So my next step was to ask myself "Where do I love to go when I want to return to abandoned places and dwell there to find adventure, inspiration or silence?" and the Attic came to my mind.

It has always been a powerful symbolic place for most of us. As children we played there in awe and fear, and as adult we go back to remember these feelings, if even for a few minutes.

And there the questions wait for us in the shadows...

Have we left our childhood dreams with our childhood toys in the attic?

How often do we go back to either of them and return to the only abandoned places that are actually within us?
