Hm, than maybe flag is wrong, double cross become symbol after coronation of king Stephen I, year 1000.

Well, I'm sure it's a fictional Coat of Arms type thing just to help indicate who is involved in the conflict. Not historically accurate cause I for one can't even find a Magyar flag from that era. Although I did not write nor draw this scene. I just did the coloring. It's a fictional comic book where immortals roam the earth changing history as we know it.. not a history book! :)

Sure thing, and it works it's purpose, it got me to think that those are Hungarians.

About the flag they probably used banners with some animals on them, which are related to their shamanistic culture.

That is the "Arpad dynasty flag", which might have ruled during the Invasion, but it was first time used as the coat of arms in 13th century.
