Description

Zupaysaurus rougieri Arcucci and Coria, 2003

This dinosaur is based upon a superb skull, among other material. It apparently had a long neck. It was also thought to have twin thin nasal ridges, but this was an illusion based on crushing and displacement of the bones involved (the same thing may hold true for the crests of "Syntarsus" kayentakatae). It was first considered to be the most basal known tetanuran, but more recent study indicates a coelophysoid affinity.
