Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep... Ned's alarm clock continued relentlessly until he shut it off and forced himself to leave his warm bed and prepare for another day at work.
Still waking up, Ned shuffled into the bathroom. Slowly, he positioned himself in front of the mirror and tried to remember what he was doing in there. Right, getting ready to go to work. In the distance he could hear a soft beeping sound, rhythmic and mundane. Must have forgot to turn off my alarm, he thought to himself.
Back in his room Ned checked his alarm, but it was quiet and properly set to go off the next morning. In his room there was complete s

The Pursuit of Something
Driving home I make all the same movements, every time, every day. The car bumps here, there's a turn there. Take the long curvy turn on the inside, near the lines. I miss the bumps that way. That house has three motorcycles in front, this one has a DeLorean. Golf course greens on the right, more houses on the left. Watch out here for cars that slow to a near stop before turning. Almost there...
Sometimes, though, my mind is doing something else. It's searching. Reaching for something that rests just out of reach. Barely beyond grasp, something is waiting for me. I just can't get my mind around it.
Today, rounding a familiar bend, looking o
From my website:
I was recently reading some tech headlines and came across some news that brought me back to some old ideas I once had. There was this article about Google's and Yahoo's failed attempts at getting in on the social networking scene and their future plans to make up for lost time, as well as a few others.
Well, these articles got my little gears going and I started thinking about what the next big thing in social networking might be. I thought about how there are three basic kinds of people that use the Internet, and everyone either falls into one of these categories, or they are somewhere close to one or two of them.

Experience tells me that very few people ever see this journal thing, and even fewer people care about what I post here. For this reason I have been posting more often to my "thing" (http://mereman.wordpress.com/) much more frequently. Of course, not many people read THAT either, but at least my efforts haven't been split between two creativity sharing sites.
That is why I am closing up shop here. This is not to say that I will be shutting my account down or even pulling any of my work down. Here are the details:
1. I may or may not post art to deviantART in the future. Most of my creative endeavors will be available to see at my WordP

I did something crazy last week...
Alright, let's go for brief here. First off, I want to know how many people actually lay eyes on what I write in my journal. So, if you're reading this, it is now your duty to leave a comment. Thanks.
Secondly, I would be much obliged if you would do me the additional favor of stopping by my new "thing." I don't much like the word the rest of the world uses for it, so I call it a "thing." Anyhow, it can be found here at http://mereman.wordpress.com/
If you are kind enough to click through and visit my new "thing" please read at least one of the items you find there completely and leave me some feedback or even just a "hello." I prefer
Yesterday Morning, Evening by brianhaddad, journal
Yesterday Morning, Evening
So, yesterday morning I had this strange little idea for a short story, and in the evening I wrote it all out on my new little portable word-processing dedicated laptop, and posted it as, "Hesitation." In fact, I posted it in four different places, and have yet to get any comments. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I suppose, at least here, I could see how many views it's had... So far, I'm guessing not a lot.
OK, so I just checked, and it said I've had a total of one view since it was posted and one today (I'm guessing that one view came from me). Oh well. Perhaps as my writing gets better I'll really start looking f
