Viral Sockpuppets The Promo

We do it all the time. As children we played make-believe and were encouraged to use our imaginations. We would put on our costumes, no matter if it was Halloween or not. It was just fun to pretend you were a superhero for a little while. Or maybe you played "Cops and Robbers" with friends--always playing the villain? It was fun; why did you stop? Does growing up mean that you can no longer have fun or play? Why has society taught us to be so afraid to "look silly"?

As adults, we have developed self-conscious defense mechanisms, which prevent us from accessing our playful potential and discovering what it's like to truly feel free. However, every Halloween, many of us disguise our identities and allow imagination to take over. Why do we only allow this to happen once a year? We all need some form of emotional release. Sometimes this release builds up in a person and eventually boils over in the form of anger or hatred. If you look though comments on any popular online forum, you will see slanderous hateful comments spread throughout. This form of release is unproductive, but if you fine tune it and develop that potential energy, you can put it into something creative, channeling the fear and anger into an amazing story.

If you feel like you may have some untapped imagination stored away in your gray matter, then Viral Sockpuppets might be for you. Join a cast of creative storytellers, who have the freedom to play and express themselves through outrageous, sometimes cartoon-like, fantastical sockpuppeted characters, throughout all the social networks. Create videos for YouTube, engage in a dialogue with the Facebook community, or take on Twitter. With Viral Sockpuppets, you create the character, and we support your narrative. It's a transmedia universe waiting for your character to move in.

If you are not quite ready to create a character, you can certainly get to know the other citizens of the Viral Sockpuppets universe. Just subscribe to their YouTube channels, twitter accounts, and Facebook fan pages for the latest updates and information about the narrative.

Uncle Pappy was my favorite of the characters. This was awesome work, sir.

Well, Uncle Pappy will be pleased as punch that you dig him. If you get a chance head on over to [link] the Viral Sockpuppets website and check out the project. Lots of stuff going on over there at the moment. There are also about 10 episodes of the "With Uncle Pappy" series that you can watch: [link] However you may be pleased to know, a prequel to Uncle Pappy's current story is in the works in the form of a comic. Which will be making its way onto Deviant Art sometime shortly.

How has everything been out your way?

Well, I'm in a long distance relationship (we have met on a few occasions now) I'm always busy drawing comics, and I've even started recording music again!

Congrats on all accounts. Although, long distance relationships are always tough. Good luck with it. Keep drawing the awesome comics. I hope you can get a massive publishing and or animation deal sometime soon. And music is always awesome. You should start integrating your comics into motion comics scored with your music.

Indeed they can, but we're managing okay right now! I made her day yesterday so I'm happy. :)

The idea of making motion comics is something I've considered but I don't know if the music I produce would fit at all. :XD: The music I produce tends to be mellowed out folk industrial kind of things.

I am sure that you could write a kick ass story that would work well with folksy mellowed out industrial.
