(Aquitaine) Maurice de Rossignol

Maurice de Rossignol, Duke of Gâtinais. Nicknamed “The Dragon of the Heavens” by his contemporaries, Maurice de Rossignol is both the head of House Rossignol and the current Duke of Gâtinais. A vassal of House Williamson of The Kingdom of Aquitaine, his family and he are best known for their traditions of gardening and botany amongst the great lords of Aquitaine. The House of Rossignol is also best known for its administrative finesse and the lands of Gâtinais are best known for their exemplary production of agricultural goods, thanks in part to the exceptional stewardship of Maurice de Rossignol and his predecessors. Since the production of agricultural goods in the Duchy of Gâtinais is far in excess of its base productivity, Maurice de Rossignol and his House is one of the wealthiest families in The Kingdom of Aquitaine outside The Royal Family themselves. Outside his administrative excellence and the rich gardening and botanical traditions of his family and he, Maurice de Rossignol is one of the most competent warriors amongst the great lords of The Kingdom of Aquitaine. It is said that he is highly proficient in a wide variety of weapons and in combat both on horseback and on foot, and that his military skills have won him the majority of the battles in which he had fought.
