Goddammit, does it ever piss me off to hear any of the following:

"Feminism is about equality!"
"The definition of feminism is equality between the genders!"
"You just don't understand feminism!"
"You're not a real feminist!"
"You just hate women!"
"If you're not a feminist, you're a misogynist!"
"You have internalized misogyny!"
"If you believe in equality, then you're a feminist!"

No. Just… FUCKING NO! Rage Nuu Steaming Mad! I am PISSED OFF! frustrated Chainsaw

And I'm sick of being told "I'm wrong!" because I share a different point of view. So I made this in response to the non-stop, holier-than-thou feminist propaganda by misguided, bigoted, and screeching zealots who shove it down other people's throats.

I am NOT A FEMINIST, and I will decide what label I want to adopt, thank you very much. I am PISSED OFF!

First, I suppose I should critique this from an artistic point of view. Considering I am not a visual artist, it may seem my critique is lacking, and be assured it comes from the untrained, so it probably is lacking.

The layout of the art is very dynamic. It immediately draws the eye and polarizes the viewer with the contrast of colors. The font is legible and easy to read, and succinct in nature. The background reminds me of asphalt or rough concrete as far as the texture goes, which makes me think of this being a piece of graffiti somewhere in a large urban sprawl.

As for the ideal of the art, I can safely say it also polarizes a viewer; the fact that there is clearly a large middle finger being given to a radical feminist icon shows immediately that this art is anti-radical feminism. The fact that there are red words in the statements lets the viewer know that there are contrary statements to feminism made in the art. Once the viewer started reading, they find a litany of statements that are well-reasoned and informed, telling modern radical feminism that their ideology is not for the creator of the art, and that rejecting feminism doesn't force a false dichotomy.

All in all, I like your art. It's well though out. The originality is a little low because counterculture art is a common thing, but it's still good marks all around everywhere else.

:iconsenzune:
The statements made in this picture are clearly organized, making it an ease to the eye and mind alike. The emphasis on the red words is a great addition to make the statements sharp, and allows for the great organization of the sentences.

While not necessarily original statements on their own, it's good to read them more often and concise such as you did with this work. You will undoubtedly receive negative comments, one of them already being there at the time of me typing this. People who still don't get it, and thus people who need to think better about the statements made here.

The asphalt-like texture is a daring choice for this picture, which is exactly the right choice: A daring texture for a daring, rough statement about a current political controversy. But the truly daring part about this work is not the choice of words, colors or textures, it's the choice to voice your opinion on something that is usually met with harsh controversy. All the more need and praise for people like you to voice their opinion on this issue.

Well done.

Identifying as a feminist should be a choice. If someone wants to identify as a feminist, that's fine. If someone doesn't want to identify as a feminist, that's fine too.

Personally, I think with equality, people should be treated as equally as possible. I know complete equality isn't always achievable. For example, men cannot menstruate, so focusing only on women in issues related to menstruation makes sense. Women also tend to be smaller and more lightly built than men, which is why male athletes and female athletes compete separately, especially in contact sports. Sometimes intergender competition is allowed - for example, sometimes girls on wrestling teams have no choice but to fight boys because there are way more boys than girls (and even now many teams don't have any girls on them). But still, if the girls fight boys, they only fight the smaller boys since the larger ones have too much of a physical advantage. Had I been on a wrestling team in school, I wouldn't have be allowed to fight girls because I'm very big.

I think it's sad when people assume that non-feminists must be MRAs. I'm not a feminist, but I think that MRAs can be just as bad as radfems. In fact, quite often they're even worse.

I agree completely. And when it comes to the concept of equality, I always like to explain it like this:

If equality were always a good thing, then communism would be a resounding success.

The only equalities I accept as given are moral equalities, the ones we were born with. In no other ways are we truly equal, not in looks or physical abilities, not in mental abilities, not in genetic gifts, not in any economic way.
Beyond that, we should try to treat all others well, remembering that, being normally human, we're sometimes going to fail at it. That doesn't make us bad, nor less human.
Further we should try to be as good as we can at using whatever gifts we have been give. If we do as little as one thing better each day, we've made progress, and should be quite happy with that.
Most beliefs are no better than any others, except morally. If they are cognizant of the nature of reality, which isn't anything like simple, they're good enough.
And always remember that these may change with time. There are things that we no longer accept as good and normal that once were so seen. The best example I know of is human slavery. Only in the last couple of centuries has it been recognized as less than good fairly generally, but even now that's not universal.
Given all of this, I accept that the only true equality between the genders is moral, not political, legal, or economic.
Screaming about these differences doesn't make them either wrong, or any less real.

Also please note I think this is by far the most commented picture I found on deviantart after scrolling down through images after searching "feminist"

Of course deviantart places your picture WAAAAY down the list, and it's still #1 most commented.

Anything that goes against the destructive progressive ideology must be silenced... right deviantfart?

Yeah, I think it's because it really hits home with many people's frustrations of feminism overstepping their bounds.

I'm not sure the arrangement is ideologically driven, as sorting on other pages is weird as well. I think it's because the sorting system on this site is broken.

It took me a while to realize that I don't even agree with the concept of equality. I just accepted it because the media (movies, tv, news, music) presented the idea. I never would have said I was against equality because "equality" meant fair treatment for everyone, but that's not what it means. People are all different, so any kind of equality - even equality of opportunity - is unattainable without us becoming a Borg collective. I wasn't born rich, so I have fewer opportunities than a rich person, but that doesn't mean they should have their money taken away. Life is unfair. What matters is that we remove any institutional barriers preventing people from pursuing success.

Hi there, I think you just don't like feminazis. For example, you can be a feminist whilst being a stay at home mom. Feminism genuinely is about equality for everyone, but just as there are extremists in Christianity and Islam; there are extremists in feminism. I am not shoving feminism down your throat just suggesting, maybe you are focusing on the feminazis? In my opinion, if you believe in EQUAL RIGHTS FOR MEN AND WOMEN, therefore you are a feminist.
If you believe women are better you are not a feminist, and if you think men are better you are not a feminist.

Feminism does not have a monopoly on believing in equal rights. That is essentially Tantamount to saying, "If you believe in the 5th commandment, Thou shalt not kill (That's what I learned) you are a Christian" You can believe in not murdering someone without being Christian. Just like you can believe in equality without being a feminist

Okay, several things wrong with this argument:

1. Feminism doesn't have a monopoly over the concept of equality. You can be for equality an not be a feminist, as I outlined.
2. You're pulling a No-True Scotsman fallacy. Just because your feminism is different from someone else's doesn't make yours more valid. A radical feminist is still a feminist.
3. This logic is no different than saying, "if you're against slavery, then you're a republican", or in the case of Godwin's law, "if you believe in economic prosperity, then you're a Nazi". It's a gross oversimplification of an ideology that you can't fit into black and white terms.
4. Feminists only want equal rights when it benefits or interests them, and without any of the responsibilities or consequences that may come with such. Claiming that feminism is "just about equal rights between the sexes" is misleading at best, and a flat-out lie at worst.

So no, I'm not focusing on the radicals. I'm focusing on the staggering incompetence of the majority of feminists.

If "feminism" really is a belief in gender equality, then the ranks of feminists include TheAmazingAtheist, Thunderf00t, and plenty of other people that self-proclaimed "feminists" hate.  That definition also excludes people like Anita Sarkeesian and Chanti Binks, who really don't give a shit about equality and just want to censor anything that offends their sensibilities.
