Mud Wasp by BreeSpawn Mud Wasp by BreeSpawn
This is a mud wasp. just as the name suggests this is one of a multitude of wasp species that make their nests out of mud which they collect a load at a time to create their home.

For some reason unlike more aggressive wasp species such as the paper wasp, the mud wasp has a very placid temperament, which at our home is a good survival technique

Photographed: Australia, NSW, Hunter Valley, 2012
