Hi Shadowheart, thank you so much for this extensive feedback. The only reason why I'd ever label this as "Unfair" would be because it's too flattering and humbling.

Before anything else, I'd like to mention that my commission (and art director if you will :) ) Tipurbanstyle should be accredited and thanked for giving clear instructions and creative freedom at the same time.

I've based myself off of sea-eels whose features I tried to incorporate here. I'm glad it paid off not only in the commissioner's view but yours! The black spots are supposed to be gills of a sort, indeed, and you're right about the left front leg's shadow being too sharp. Something to bear in mind for next time.

Thank you for being a much-needed mirror in which I get to review my creations with a critical eye - I hope your help and praise are appreciated by all Deviants you visit!

Commission - Sea Serpent Reference Sheet
Thank you very much for the mindblowing rating and the time to critique this pic! I'm only afraid your praise is too high for how it turned out, but I'm glad you like it as much as you do. It does bring back memories. :)

Hi Taureau, thank you so much for the extensive, amazing feedback! I may have felt some of the points you mention as being 'amiss', but never did I manage to put my finger on it - or mold them into words. This'll absolutely help me in future designs.

A dozen thanks for your encouragement! Hope you're treated as graciously by fellow Deviants as you've treated my works.

Hey Avalyn, thanks for your message! I sent a reply in a Note regarding the payment and delay.

My sincere apologies here, too, for the inconvenience. I've gone through some difficulties in my private life that prevented me from getting to the computer (and thus to follow up on DeviantArt and other commissions). I'm sorry how this affected you and a multitude of people, and am so grateful for all the kindness and good faith everyone's shown. This truly is a wonderful community.

So soothing. I admire the detail you've put into the stones and pines, and the choice of colours is therapeutic to me. The reflection is lovely.
