This is incredible. What does 'Irish crochet' mean?

Thank you! Irish crochet is a technique of crochet which imitates a lace. It was invented in Ireland as a cheaper variation of brussels lace.

Amazing. I grew up in Ireland and for years I just thought that was 'crochet'. I didn't know it was a national style :)

Wow, this looks amazing! I like Irish crochet, because it's so whimsical.
I'm curious though - is it hard to assemble? I can see your details pinned to some kind of fabric, but it puzzles me how do you figure out the amount of chain stitches that go inbetween.

Thank you! At the beginning you need lot of crochet pieces (flowers, leaves, etc.), second step is pinned it to some board (I use polystyren board) in the way you want. The most close motives sew together and the rest you must do a chain stitches and create the net. Link for tutorial (russian):www.youtube.com/watch?v=zET1gH…

It is not complicated technique, but you need a lot of patient and do really clear work (no knots) and know some basic technique.

Beautiful!  I must figure out how to do this.  (Not very good with the small thread XD)

Thank you! Irish crochet isn't difficult technique. You can try it with normal thread (I saw wonderfull coat from 100% wool and it looks wonderfull!) Only that work is very time-consuming and you must crochet very carefully because every mistake and every knot is very visible.

Really?  I might have to find some patterns then, do you have any suggestions where I can find them?

The best irish crochet you can find on russian internet. If you want, I have a huge gallery of patterns, I can upload it for you next week.
olgemini.blogspot.cz/ - this page is georgeous (in russian language, but you will understand it because there is lot of tutorials in pics)
