Started with a portrait of Jean Shrimpton, then thinking she reminded me of Marvel character, Black Widow, then FINALLY using the reference that I've been wanting to use for forever! Just a fun quick little paint. Wanted to play with the Hard Pastel on Canvas brush because it looks a little like graphite.

BW is one of the most drawn characters on dA but I LOVE your take on her and using a 60's model as the basis is a master stroke.  ScarJo is OK but I never thought she was great casting and always wished Emily Blunt had been able to take the role when it was offered.

This piece might well be the next best thing though.

Thanks so much. I agree that ScarJo was an odd choice for casting... I always felt that BW channeled more of the 60's bombshell vibe. Thank you for your kind words!

I just can't believe you don't have a ton of comments.  This is a great pic.  It's got the retro Phil Noto style vibe but having said that your rendition of BW is better IMHO.

Thanks so much for your kind words. This is a really old draw... but I still like it! Haven't watched Beast Machines in forever...

I really like, but if you're up for some minor critique...

Her head and shoulders don't seem to be interacting quite right.  It's almost like her head/neck are a touch too far forward.  In theroy, the zipper up her back should be able to be continued right up the back of her head (were she looking forward)  Since the dead swivels at the top of the neck, it'd probably line that zipper just behind her ear.

Also I'm not sure that she should be able to turn her head quite that far, and there seems to be some minor disagreement between the highlights and shadows. (Her face indicates light from the viewer's left, but the bodysuit doesn't reflect that...that could just be me though)

Love the textures though, the make her pop over the rifle.   Pretty cool overall.

No problema.  Lord knows I pretty much have to work on the same things. :D

It is a really cool drawing overall though.
