Chris Cornell

I was reintroduced to Chris Cornell's voice on the Miami Vice sound track and the theme from Casino Royale. Michael Mann uses Audio Slave on many of his movies and when I heard "You Know My Name" I was really taken by the vocals.

A friend of mine that I used to date was in love with Chris Cornell's music; she really got offended when I told her I could only remember "Black Hole Sun" when thinking of Soundgarden, most likely due to the surreal music video and the drummer Matt Cameron whose playing I dug. Convinced that I should explore more of his music prior to hearing more mainstream movie-tunes, I started listening to songs like "Steel Rain" and "Moon Child" from Euphoria Morning and I really had an appreciation for what he was doing musically and vocally.

So, (MJ...lol) I say all that to say that Chris Cornell is now in pretty good rotation with me. I figured I take a shot at trying to capture his visage with this caricature. Art is interpretation, so fans don't kill me if I didn't do him justice. I did this piece, as most of my caricatures, 80% from memory with a few reference photos. Thanks for reading - if you did.
