Backstory:
Long ago, in the demon realm of Makai, a mysterious Black Light flooded over the village of Etruria. An army of invading monsters ravaged the village, killing most of its people and leaving the king badly wounded. With his dying breath, King Morock ordered a young gargoyle named Firebrand to report this invasion to the Makai’s supreme king. During his quest, Firebrand discovered the king had been replaced by an imposter and slew him before releasing the real king from his prison.
From there, Firebrand would be sent on a journey across all of Makai, during which he would learn of the source of the Black Light: the ancient demon known as Breager. He would also discover his own status as the Red Blaze, a fabled champion of Makai, which he would later prove by slaying Breager and unleashing his full power. This act set all of Makai ablaze, destroying all of Breager’s forces and the Black Light plaguing the realm.
For the next thousands of years, the Red Blaze’s title would be passed down through generations, eventually being inherited by a long distant descendant of the original. This new gargoyle, also named Firebrand in honor of his predecessor, would learn of an attempt to revive Breager and set out to stop it. Along the way, he would do battle with many monsters and demons, restored the power of King Darkoan, and passed the tests needed to prove himself worthy of being the Red Blaze.

Along the way, he would do battle with many monsters and demons, restored the power of King Darkoan, and passed the tests needed to prove himself worthy of being the Red Blaze.
Following a confrontation with King Lucifer, who sought the title of Red Blaze for himself, Firebrand would obtain his full power and meet his ancestor, who further enhanced his fire magic. With this power in hand, Firebrand went on to defeat Breager and became a legendary hero.
Sometime after this, Makai would erupt into civil war after six powerful crests fell out of the sky. Firebrand, wanting to end the war before any others could get hurt,
fended off entire armies of demons while claiming the Crests of Earth, Wind, Water Fire, and Time. He then challenged the dragon Somulo for the Crest of Heaven, and though he emerged victorious, he was mortally wounded.
Seizing this chance, the demon Phalanx attacked Firebrand and claimed the Crests for himself. With their power in hand, Phalanx ended the Crest War by setting all of Makai ablaze. He then used this newfound power to crown himself Makai’s king and framed Firebrand for Makai’s incineration, sentencing the Red Arremer to a lifetime of imprisonment.
Now sealed within the Coliseum, Firebrand bided his time, letting his wounds heal and his power return to him. With a shard of the Crest of Fire in his possession, he eventually mustered up the strength to escape the Coliseum and embarked on a quest to get revenge on Phalanx and reclaim the Crests.

After a journey that led him across all of Makai, Firebrand obtained all of the Crests, using their power to summon a hidden seventh Crest of Infinity and kill Phalanx. With the battle won, Firebrand pondered what he could do with the Crests at his command. Though he could use them to rule over Makai and gain unimaginable power, neither of these ideas interested him. He sought to prove his strength with his own power, not a set of jewels that could be easily stolen. With his mind made up, Firebrand disposed of the Crests by tossing them off a cliff, then ventured back to Makai in the hopes of finding a worthy opponent.

Who won? Akuma
An alright record, but he could always use some more exposure. So let’s see what we can come up with!
Capcom's Mightiest Demons! The Fight
Who won? Akuma
An alright record, but he could always use some more exposure. So let’s see what we can come up with!
Gargos (Killer Instinct)

Connections: Gargoyle-like warriors who hail from alternate dimensions and wield power that was previously believed to only exist in legend (the Red Blaze and the Shadow Lord)
Who I think wins: Gargos in an absolute slaughter
Hellboy (…)

Connections: Red-skinned, demonic antiheroes who fight supernatural threats to protect their homes and inherited a legendary power that they’d previously been cut off from them (Firebrand’s full power and Hellboy’s Devil Heart)
Who I think wins: I don’t know anything about Hellboy outside what I skimmed from the wiki, but at the very least, he’s immune to Firebrand’s pyrokinesis and his arsenal would absolutely destroy Firebrand
Dante (Devil May Cry)

Connections: Capcom’s red-clad, demon killing protagonists who are descended from a line of legendarily powerful demons and enjoy fighting supernatural threats
Who I think wins: Dante has every advantage that matters
Nosferatu Zodd (Berserk)

Connections: Demonic warriors who enjoy fighting strong opponents and seek to find someone who can give them the battle they truly deserve
Who I think wins: Afaik Firebrand setting all of Makai on fire with his full power eclipses any strength feat in Berserk. He’s also got a way larger arsenal, which includes a spell that could instantly kill Zodd
Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedhehog)

Connections: Nonhuman antiheroes who serve as the counterpart to their franchise’s main protagonist (Sonic and Arthur). Both received their own spinoff games, and they can enter their ultimate forms by using a set of 7 legendary artifacts (the Chaos Emeralds and the Crests), which also grants them time-based powers
Who I think wins: Shadow has every advantage outside of experience
Knuckles the Echidna (Sonic the Hedgehog)

Connections: See Shadow
Who I think wins: All Firebrand has is a larger arsenal, more experience, and better mobility thanks to his flight. Knuckles takes everything else
Shantae (…)

Connections: Red-clad shapeshifters who serve as the guardians of their homes and fight using a series of magic artifacts they collected along their journeys.
Who I think wins: Firebrand. While he doesn’t have as large an arsenal, he completely destroys her in stats, is way more experienced, and can instantly kill her with his Death spell
Specter Knight (Shovel Knight)

Connections: Supernatural entities from platforming action-adventure games who worked under the game’s antagonist and became popular enough to receive their own spinoffs.
Who I think wins: From what I remember of Shovel Knight stats, I think Firebrand takes it?
Link (Legend of Zelda)
Connections: Legendary heroes who inherited their titles and abilities from an ancestor. Both travel throughout the land to gather the resources and artifacts needed to fight a power hungry villain (Ganondorf and Phalanx) who claimed a legendary artifact that grants them seemingly godlike power (the Triforce and Crests), which (at least for some incarnations of Ganondorf) they obtained following a great war
Who I think wins: Link. Should be at least comparable to Firebrand's Makai burning feat, blitzes him, and has a far more versatile and haxxier arsenal. Plus, several of his weapons (like the Master Sword, light arrows, and silver arrows) should prove effective against Firebrand's demonic physiology
The following was suggested by
:

Connections: Two underworld dwelling protagonists that are highly imposed by who came before them (Firebrand’s ancestor and Zagreus’ father). They weaponize specialized items to boast their power and prowess in power (Arms and Crests) and use them to repair ruined hellish lands and bonds. Both also enjoy the thrill of battle and weaponize fabled objects that were once locked away from them (Arms and Firebrand’s full power).
Who I think wins: I’m not familiar with Zagreus or Hades, but Studio gave his own thoughts in the comments

The Master (ActRaiser)

Connections: A god who descends to earth vs a demon to descends to ghoul realm. Both defend their inhabitants from invading forces and eventually become rulers again (Firebrand become a demon king and The Master becomes worshipped again)
Who I think wins: I know nothing about ActRaiser, so I can't say
