Model - ME
Photographer - Dave Levingston
Editing - Cristobal Rivera Ayala
Location - My 5 foot deep Pit Fire Kiln

I am very fond of this shot of my face - because through the monochromatic rusty-brown of the clay -- the contrast of my eyes is intense and striking.
I tend to be highly critical to the point that I find every photograph of myself to be highly flawed and imperfect.... I just hate them altogether. Human nature to be one's greatest critic and expose one's insecurities in this manner. But this one, -- I am quite proud of.
Thanks for viewing.

PS - This is one of my Mommy's favorite pictures of me! (thanks, Mommy.)

:faq: PLEASE NOTE FOR PETE'S SAKE!!! :faq:
NO NO NO NO NO
My eyes WERE NOT photoshopped. It is the contrast of my natural eyecolor (moodring hazel) against the monochromatic tone of the entire image that causes them to in affect look so bright. And it should also be noted that my lashes are not painted on or in or whatever; I have DARK HAIR, which means dark eyebrows and dark lashes... and the editing done to this image to cover the few spots on my face where the skin was left exposed blended my brows with the clay, which also accounts for the color of the lashes being so strong and vivid. I hope that clears things up for once and for all. Geeeeeeeeez!

It's really intimidating, that even though my soul is in a warm and bloody shell and noone ever dared to read from it, I feel like it's completely naked now that I looked into those eyes, but I just can't look away.

You look like someone took a Michael Turner drawing used voodoo on it and turned it into a living breathing being! I seriously thought this was something from one of the Michael Turner comics that I missed out on! Stunning work!

I love this shot, and full respect to your concept, execution and props to the photographer...
However, as someone who knows the back end of a camera and the insides of photoshop - there is no way that some significant levels & curves adjusting hasn't been done to make the eyes pop. No camera can capture such a dynamic range: absolute white of eyes to full black of lashes, with detail thoughout the midtones.
There is no problem with any of this. I'm not criticizing, I just thought if you are going to make a point of saying "no photoshop done" then it just makes people look more for signs of editing. Just OWN the image, there's nothing inferior about getting some digital tweaks - it's not making you any less amazing as a model, just compensating for the limitaitons of camera technology (or bridging the gap between camera output and artistic vision). :)

I like the subtle raised eyebrow that I found only after a little while. I don't know if it is at all intentional but I like it.

Great title, br0ken-heart, and an AWESOME and most captivating picture... not to mention one of the definite best I have ever had the absolute pleasure of seeing on :devart: today!!! :rose: :star: !

The sight of the woman covered in thick, reddish clayey mud here is rather so strikingly fascinating to watch, and it entirely unfolds the very core of what the true essence of a human being is *really* all about and how deeply sacred it is in full bloom... MOST CREATIVE!!!

I *absolutely* love it so truly much, and this splendidly beautiful piece of work gets a truly magnificent YES from me... outstandingly suberb job and then some!!!
