You hang, a million bulbs, and shine;
But only for a moment.
The sun rays struggle to come through,
And serve only to guide you, to your destination,
While you struggle to delay the inevitable of the sky's blue.
But your light is fleeting , brilliant and bright, white and for a few seconds and out!
Sweet kisses fall flat on my face and wet.
They accompany the sounds of your sisters' drumming against the closed door,
A million tiny taps on wood that rise to a cacophony,
Almost deafening me.
