Buckle Up by BowChickaBowWow

Perhaps the most simple message I've posted in a stamp.

They do save lives. I don't give a royal SHIT about if they're comfortable or not. I just don't. Not right now.

Why?

My cousin's funeral is on Monday. Don't believe me? [link]

Facts:
Seat belts do save lives.
Most people who wear them and are involved in serious wrecks WILL survive.
Don't EVER, EVER, EVER drink and drive. You're a jackass if you do.

My neighbor died because he didn't buckle his seatbelt. Only because of that. The accident wasn't so terrible.

I am still alive because I did buckle up my seatbelt, and the car was a total loss.

To buckle up should be considerated like dressing up. Who forget to put his pants on? Nobody.

Amen. I'm sorry to hear about your cousin.

*would have gone through a windshield at the age of 23 if not for a seatbelt*

It might not look cool to wear a seatbelt, but it's even more not cool to be thrown out of a car.

I have never had such an accident come to my family and friends, but I have seen enough of them.

Added your stamp in the bottom of my journal - under the [Buckle Up] link.

Setbelts can lock up and get stuck in water, like if your car gets in a river or something. Then you're stuck. I wear my belt ,but if it's you're time to die it's just your time. Belt or not.

Powerful message :( I'm sorry for your lose, Aubs. What's spooky is Nathan is my father's name -shudder-

Also, its quite true, yesterday (June 6th) my sister's boyfriend was in a car accident, he was wearing his seatbelt though, and walked away just fine. He's alittle bruised up, and his car is completely totaled, but he's otherwise fine.

I'm posting this in MY journal, that's for sure

My point exactly for the last two paragraphs of your post. My Dad was involved in an accident a few years back where the car he was driving was sandwhiched between two cars. The only reason he's alive and well is because of wearing a seatbelt. Spread the word!... And maybe people will start wearing the damned things and live.

-shudder- ouch. I was told his car simply hydroplaned across the road when he barely bumped a curb. We've had so much rain I'm not really surprised

There was something that a police officer told me, who worked with a lot of serious car accidents:

"I've never had to unbuckle a dead body."

I don't think I'll ever forget that. I just wish others would do the same.

Most of the time, you'll never have to unbuckle a dead body. That's just how it runs.

Oh my god. D:
They just don't see the point in it until somebody dies, and that makes them want to not buckle up even more. D:
They think they are "cool.."

Wow! Im sorry about your cousin. And thats a good message! Ive seen that happen before. I was baby-sitting and this car came rolling down the embankment on the side of the highway. The person was flung out of the car. She wasnt wearing her seatbelt. I think she ended up dieing.

*nod* If you wear a seatbelt, you're more liable to walk away from the accident... maybe not without broken bones or bruises, but you'll be alive.

yeah or hitting a tree after being thrown through the windshield. That what happened to that lady. I have no iea how she ended up flying off the rode but I bet if she survived that somehow she probably wished she had worn a seatbelt.
