Fandom Abuse: Harry Potter by Boschian-Fantasies Fandom Abuse: Harry Potter by Boschian-Fantasies
TBH, I'm neutral on the Harry Potter series. I don't hate this series, but I'm not hog wild about this series either.
See where I'm coming from? IMO, The Harry Potter series is not horrifically bad, but it's not as great as the hype makes it out to be.

But the fanbase for The Harry Potters....OH....MY.....FUCKING....GOD!

It's one thing to be a fan, but being an adult child about it, to the point where they cut ties with reality, and actually believe Hogwarts, The Characters, and what not are real.....That is scary! Far more scarier than those so called "Religious Wing Nuts" who boycott the series for having witchcraft and occult references.

Though I hate the hatedom, but the fandom is waaaaaaaaaay worse.

Even worse yet, JK Rowling is stooping low to cater and pander to the lowest common denominator of fans....Those fans being SJW Tumblrina fans.

I did hear rumors that JK Rowling has become a hardcore SJW herself, but I don't know if these rumors are true or not...Correct me here....

But yeah, I'm give or take on The Harry Potter series, but OMG, the fanbase is one of THE MOST TOXIC FANBASES EVER! Almost as toxic as the Twilight and The Hunger Games fanbases once were (thankfully, I don't hear too much people bringing up Twilight nor The Hunger Games anymore). The Harry Potter series are nowhere near as horrific quality like Twilight or most modern day young adult literature in general, but it really doesn't offer anything, new, unique, or different to the children's fantasy genre. It's just readable and decent, that's all. Nothing too bad, nor too special.

------

Fandom is nice. I have my fandoms too.
Sometimes there is just a show you like more than others for no objective reason. That's the mystery of art. That is perfect.

But what is bad is becoming so obsessed with an unique fandom that you forget anything else.
How many artists have lost their creativity thanks to fan art? How many viewers are missing great new shows before they watch a same episode 16 times?
And even worse, too much fandom is repulsive for other people, and in the end, you won't be able to share your passion for a show with one another because you'll scare him.
It can sadly go even further, as the incidents of violence over trivial conversations about fictional characters tend to get more and more frequent. And even though you are probably never been part of an incident like this, you should be aware that it is only the extreme of a global tendency of identifying and defining oneself almost exclusively through fandom.

Stop this phenomenon. Stop this "fandom abuse". Be reasonable and responsible fans. It'll be good both for you and your favorite show's reputation.

To be honest, Harry Potter is not the only franchise that can kill one's interest in fandoms.

I used to be a fan of KOEI games. But since toxic people in KOEI Warriors Forum love to shove to my throat that only DW9 is worth the hype they immediately get impatient with the lack of news about it or that KOEI announces another IP instead... I. Can't. Take it. ANYMORE.

Do you have like, the general fandom abuse stamp? ^^;

I agree. I used to be active in the Harry Potter fandom, until the fandom went insane. I remembered people in the fandom writing on their profiles "Me + Draco 4ever" and flaming authors who dared to write their fan character interacting with the characters they claim loves them. I remembered someone deactivating their Fanfiction.net account because of this, this person who deactivated their Fanfiction.net account had a Slytherin Fan Character who was in the same year as Draco. This Fan Character was part of Pansy Parkinson's gang, so of course this Fan Character would interact with Draco. All this, plus other incidents, is what driving sane fans away from the fandom. Since I left the Harry Potter fandom, I rediscovered fandoms I was once obsessed with, plus several new ones. I plan to draw fan art for different fandoms, rather than sticking with one fandom.

Indeed.  The cancer of any fandom or general fiction, because fiction is such an easy thing to wrap instead of 'fix'.  If they were to do the same thing in any restricted countries like the Middle East or other heavily conservative places, they would have been butchered faster than the pigs in the meat slaughterhouse.

And, no matter how tedious this has gotten, I refuse to become one myself, let alone pandering to them the way Hollywood seems to do so in recent years.

Is it also true that Rowling is anti-GamerGate as well? I lulz at the SJW celebrities who are anti-GG, yet never touched a video game in their life.

Also, it's sad that celebrities like Rowling are jumping on the SJW bandwagon. I hope the SJW fad just dies and burns in hell.

I don't know if she is, I found this article, though I'll say, it'll only be a matter of time (If she does tweet about GG, I'll probably miss it since I'm not in Twitter that much or worst, there's a chance she'll block me, I haven't been blocked by these celebs yet despite I mostly post GG and meme stuff ((I find Twitter is a bit weird, you can block people, even though they don't tweet you)). medium.com/@tamlin69/j-k-rowli…

Which would be rather ironic if Rowling was anti-GamerGate, because there are already oodles and oodles of Harry Potter video games that were made at the peak of it's popularity.

Don't forget the old version of Pottermore, it was interactive, you find objects, some of which can be use for potion brewing. Plus, there's mini-games, like throwing gnomes out of the garden, dueling, and brewing potions.

Thank you.

TBH, it is read-a-ble, but I am a much bigger fan of works, such as the authors Michael Ende, Peter S. Beagle, HP Lovecraft, L. Frank Baum, Kaoru Kurimoto and whomever wrote the Dragonlance series of books.

And the difference between Harry Potter and Twilight is that certain characters in HP die for good canonwise, while nobody dies in Twilight, because Stephanie Meyer is too much of a chicken to kill off one of her characters.

Another difference? The vampires in HP are REAL vampires, while the "vampires" in Twilight are nothing more than "pretty as a pansy" Ken dolls who sparkle and appeal to stupid little teenage girls with bad tastes in entertainment. That's like creating grim reapers who look like pretty boy bishies that can shoot sparkling rainbow water. Grim reapers should act like grim reapers. Vampires should act like vampires. But rabid Twilight fangirls are too scared of the truth.

Also notice how a lot of rabid Twihards are obese, ugly and have poor hygiene? Is it a coincidence or what?

And they make overweight people look bad. At least sane overweight people have proper hygiene, and they can be beautiful too. Same for skinny and muscular people. But no one, fat, skinny, or muscular, would ever want to date an ugly, unhygienic, morbidly obese Twihard, that's for sure.

I know, right?

It's very sad that SJWs exist. They have nothing better to do than to sit behind their computers and bitch and moan about how everything is "racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.", faking PTSD and autism just to get their "get out of jail free card" and to seek attention, and telling cis white males like me to "check our privileges"

My god, why do SJWs even exist? SMH

Like she's pro unchecked immigration and letting in refugees...despite having more than enough money, land, and home space to provide for such people herself but doesn't lift a finger to do so. Because she's not someone who'd suffer the consequences of what immigrants and refugees could do wrong.

What is this world coming to?
