"Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, where the great would not be constrained by the small!"

Yes, I liked Bioshock as well. As for this art piece? I must admit that it's quite the achievement. The use of lighting is so professional when mixed with the textures of both the glass and wallpaper. A sense of clever placement within everything present can be made note of. Although I could be cruel and say that the floor could have had something done to it, I'm not one to deny an artist their just rewards for such an acomplishment present within this art piece, which must've taken hours of dedication to perfecting.

In conclusion: if one is devout in their seeking to better their craft, one can achieve wondrous results worthy of both praise, and immortality.

At first I thought you drew and coloured this and I was highly impress. But now that I know it's a composite of over 50,000 images I'm even more impressed. Because, I've done some composites in my time and the thing people don't realise is how DAMN HARD it can be, especially to get everything looking so wonderfully consistent as in this piece. Great vision, very very reminiscent of Bioshock as you have stated; very grungy; very dark and shadowy. It almost has a 'German Expressionism' film style feel about it. I think it's very good and I look forward to seeing more like it.

To start out, I want to say amazing use of many stock pieces. It's nice to see artist's using the tools and resources that other artists work so hard to make so that they can be turned into something incredibly larger than themselves.

It's an interesting perspective you have portrayed here. a lone captain driving some huge ship, 'ride', 'life', 'dream' Into the city - an urban garden of Eden. I love how open ended the piece is in that it can be a metaphor or many things or people in completely different ways. It's also nice to see an artist who can leave their work up to the interpretation of each individual viewer. [ As it seems that people have had many idea's about what this piece is or means ]. I see it as an epic journey through a technological wonderland, any person could be the captain - pursuing their own Eden. Also, that Eden and the ideal of a perfected place can be anything that you, 'the captain' wants it to be. It's all perspective.

On a technical/artistic level; All of the layers seem to be placed extremely well and thoughtfully around the piece. I still cant figure out for the life of me why its tweaked at an angle rather than being straight on. Is this purposeful, possibly to add a bit of a rocking movement feeling to the
piece?

The color Palette compliments the piece well and the colors blend very naturally. It's also an interesting compliment to how black and white everything but "Eden" is.

Overall A very well put together piece.

Okay, first, I must say that this offers a very unique perspective. I love how it takes you into the captain's area to view this strange city of Eden. It's a neat concept and perspective. I find it kind of funny that the statue of liberty is in the corner. It's kind of cool.
I like the feeling of an underwater world that the octopus in the corner offers. It adds another layer to the image. Not to mention, you blended together all the different stock very well. In most places, I have difficulties telling the differences in the images.

There are only a few places I see that could be improved. Since this is a ship, you might've made the main window more even and square. A ship would probably have an even cut to a window. One other thing I see that is an easy fix is to take the shadow cast by the man, and make sure it isn't overcome by the shadow of the wheel. It just needs to encompass the man a little bit more.

Overall, this is a very well manipulated image and one that has a great impact once it is widened to full image size. Just changing a few lines and shadows would make it nearly perfect in my book.

wow!

really cool view from the ship. the inside of the ship reminds me more of stargate universe (tv series) than of bioshock or fallout though.

the outside is another matter. bioshock and fallout all the way, especially new vegas in fallout.

love the greenish color of the outside atmosphere, just can't comprehend if the scene is under water or not, probably not.

i checked out some of the stock you linked and you really did a good job of integrating it all. love the ship wheel, looks like it really belongs.

also love the shadow's as they seem to all fall on the right places, together with the lighting.

the outfit on the captain (first officer?!) reminds me of russian outfits in the cold north.

also i find it ironic that it says 'welcome to eden' while the scene looks nothing like paradise.

really well use of stock and awesome that you took the time to link it all - many people skip the contribution step.

I love Bioshock so I love your artwork, its so awesome. when I'm walking through the empty halls of the hospital, when I had work experience there, I tried to imagine how the hospital would look if it was run down because of a great tragedy like what they have done with Rapture. I just love the eerie sense of the quiet halls, when u can hear the wind playing with the loose windows and the place is all dark, and you can sense that you not alown. Those sort of things are what I love to see with artwork like these and you make all that happen. Great work :D
