Halo Theory

Naturally, you need to know a bit of Halo to get this one :

Ever since Halo 3, the Grunt class of the Covenant army developed a new attack Halo fans came to call the "suicide bombing". See, not only did these little fuckers get freaking good at throwing plasma grenades from miles away without ever missing their target, but sometimes they even starts yelling and run toward you holding two plasma grenades READY TO EXPLODE.
Needless to say it's pretty effective if you fail to gun them down before they reach you.

That technic, however deadly, didn't quite fit the usual Grunts routine at the time. They may be quivering cowards, but the Grunts simply didn't strike me as suicidal. I see them run away from fights all the time to try and save their skin.
Then, it occurred to me that plasma grenades can be glued to their target once in contact with it, with NO way of taking it off.

That's when I started making sense to me.

Edit: That was back in 2010, and still Suicide Grunts continue to throw themselves at me.

It is quite possible they were later trained by their leaders to execute themselves on cue, but that doesn't mean my theory isn't valid. BEWARE, SPARTANS. Beware…
