One Last ChanceOne last chance,
In one last minute,
Of one last hour safe and sound.
A second passes and the walls are in flames,
When a moment ago they were free,
And questions slip through my brain and surround.
Gotta get out of here.
I've gotta live,
To see tomorrow.
I need to be selfish,
And run through the seconds I have left,
And escape from the sorrow.
Time is dwindling,
And every second counts,
As I live the situation, try to master.
Every beat is quicker,
And every breath is faster.
As the moment leads up to dispair and disaster.
Is this the end?
Or only the beginning?
I stare back in a glance.
What I had thirty seconds ago,
All burnt to the ground.
If only I had one last chance.
I Have Grown Along With YouI wanted it to keep moving,
But at the same time,
I wanted it to end.
I wanted to see how all of you changed,
Like me,
The reader who's life has had great impact,
From one creative person,
Through her pictures,
Through her words,
And her anologies in life,
And through you.
It helped me see the world differently,
It helped me be thankful,
It made me feel extremly carefree and happy.
I grew so attached to all of you,
The characters I had grown up with,
Side by side for three years,
Getting taller,
Getting smarter,
Understanding life,
And what kind of person I am.
I cried.
You who have grown along with me,
Will never know,
Because your lives were restricted into the panels of a story,
That had been shared with the world.
I am not a part of your lives,
Rather,
I am watching you from the outside.
How it hurts me to see all of you,
Graduating,
Falling in love,
And seperating from one another,
Ending with me left slumped in my chair staring at the very last page,
Knowing every moment I
AshamedI look in the mirror,
My mascara running down my face,
And look at my hands,
With eyes full of rage.
Who is this girl,
I see in the mirror?
Who's hands are shaking,
Who's face is stained with black tears?
I hate her so much,
I hate looking at her pretend smile.
It makes me sick.
Is she really worthwhile?
Was she always so depressing?
Was she always so fake?
Standing there as if she lost the world,
When she was the one who was lost in it?
This girl that I see,
She is the one who should be blamed.
She is the one,
Who's made me feel so ashamed.
That girl in the mirror,
That I look at with such regret,
That is staring right back at me,
I want to forget.
I don't want to think,
That we are the same.
I don't want to feel,
Feel so ashamed.
We Meet AgainTalking kindly with a stranger,
And bumped by someone passing by,
I turned around to see you standing there smirking.
The joy started bubbling over,
And I couldn't help but smile,
And point at you in surprise.
You were so tall,
And your voice had changed,
And you acknowledged me.
Good friends that long been apart,
I just didn't want to leave your side because,
I was afraid I couldn't grasp this feeling again.
And eventually when I found an excuse to leave,
I asked for a hug,
Your eyes shifting in embarrassment.
And to ease the embarrassment,
I gave you my truthful excuse.
"I miss your hug!"
And I jogged away over-joyed,
My heart jumping up in down inside of me,
I felt accepted, I felt important, I felt happy.
And later I kept thinking about the way I acted.
"Idiot, Idiot, Idiot" I told myself.
But I couldn't help but cheerfully smile and tell myself out loud so the trees could hear,
"I don't care
        If I may be
  &
Free FallMy feet are dangling off the edge.
As I look before the mirror that lies below,
I'm hesitant and trembling.
How will this end,
After this begins?
I'm tempted by those around me.
"Dive in."
"Jump in."
"I'll be there to catch you if you drown."
My trust is laid on their shoulders as I look below,
Forgetting all of my questions and about to go.
My body flying into the air,
The wind rushing through my eyes, my hair.
Free falling,
Not knowing what will happen when I make contact,
And shatter the mirror I've been afraid to see myself in.
I feel the rush as I plunge,
I'm swept underneath as my heart races and my soul is left behind.
I shoot back out of the mirror quickly,
I rub my eyes and look around.
They are there.
And so am I.
The mirror I've avoided,
Was a mirror I've never peered through,
Not because I failed,
But because I had never tried.
